Game Thread: Lady Vols vs. No. 1 South Carolina; 7PM Thurs, ESPN

Ok, impressive debate. I also don’t think the SEC is all that good overall. LSU has one player that is very good offensively and a good rebounder/defender that is offensively limited which is why SC boat raced them. Elite eight is a reach imo.
Ok. Whatever you say. Get a win against LSU in the Tournament, and we are a top 4 seed. Doesn't matter the chatter on a forum like this, we are competing against the best teams in the nation and have beaten a lot of teams that will be in the NCAA tournament. The Lady Vols are a lot better than most give them credit for.

When she got going it was because players lost her trying to defend post even when you didn't need the 3rd player inside. I'm calling out players on this one everyone knows you do not let her get going. In CHRIST Alone

THANK YOU....I WAS REALLY OK WITH FLETCHER HITTING SHOTS BUT COOKE IT JUST IRRITATED ME BEYOND NO END...

Earlier someone said ESPN had us as 13 point dogs. We got beat by 13. SC is better than we are. SC has several six foot plus kids that are athletic and can jump. Currently, we do not. On most every 50/50 ball we get beat. Coach Harper must upgrade this roster with speed and kids that have a significant vertical jump.

The one play that bothers me the most is Bre Beal rebounding her second missed free throw and driving to the basket with a layup.
The score was 31 to 26 at that point. Beal made it 33 to 26.
As a free throw shooter, you can not step into the lane until your shot hits the rim or backboard. The six players on the lane can step in the lane once the ball leaves the shooters' hand. The role of one of the two Tennessee players who have the two slots next to Beal is to step in front of her and make sure she does not get her own rebound. This is basic basketball. No one stepped in. Beal rebounded and layed the ball up uncontested. I was disappointed but not surprised. We play hard but we make unacceptable mistakes that mount up and in the end cost you a chance to win.

Striplin played well and stepped up while JH was off even with 14 points. Darby 2 points can’t happen but is her norm in big games.
How many times did she get the balll;; everytime Walker starts toward her she turns around & goes the other way

Here we go with the officiating lol every message board it is the same stuff when they lose blame it on the refs. How about rebound the ball and Horston play under control and guard Cooke that didn't have any effect on outcome I presume
i said sc might won anyway. refs call touch fouls on vols not gamecocks. just the way i saw it.

LV's 26-18...6:15 Q2
1st half stats.jpg
Down 26-31...1:34
then,,, coach calls timeout
damage done!

You don't climb back up from a 13-0 run when you're playing against the number 1 team in the country

2 timeouts in-game
2 timeouts end-game
YOU almost never need more than two at the end of a game

,,,maybe Coach Kellie will change philosophies and try interrupting runs before they get to be double digits,,,then again,,,
Nah,,,I seem to remember hearing,,
"I don't like to change things. I'm not big on change......"

AD White has a tough decision to make. It's time to cut ties with Kellie. I don't care if it's a male or female, just be able to run an actual offense. It's the same ole same ole being outplayed and outcoached against the elite teams of WBB. I will continue to support my LV, but man it's hard to sometimes.
yes make no mistake head coach competency is key LSU has passed us last couple of years like we were standing still have to change the thinking that had been present get a nationwide search
