SC will be more dialed in to our game that Miss. So I never look at scores each game is different. Now SC can struggle to shoot jumpers against Miss Boston was missing every 10 ft they let her shoot let's see how she is tomorrow night. So when SC shoots well they are easily best team in country. Now Tennessee is the same shooting when we shoot well we can play with any team in the country. So we will know tomorrow night. My score Lady Vols 76 SC 70. In CHRIST Alone

This is the measuring stick for the Lady Vols .
It's not the offensive side of the ball we have to worry about , its Beal , Fletcher and SC elite defense which causes problems and Beal rarely sits , whoever is hot she'll be ball hawking and she can shoot threes. She's SC MVP.
One thing SC has which we don't is Dawn Staley and her coaching staff.
SC 70
TN 49

Hold up. I am confused. Why would the coaching staff have anything to do with it? People keep telling me that when the men lose it’s not on Barnes at all. They say is it Barnes missing shots? Orbits Barnes who tunes the ball over or defends poorly?

So in your opinion the #1 team in the nation is our measuring stick? This is laughable. We are kissing our best player but you wanna make this game into a measuring stick game as to where we are? You do realize we are supposed to lose right?

I’ve really been questioning some coaching decisions lately. Is Kelly gonna keep the pattern going and start the game with Striplin on Boston? That way she ensures the LVs are down by 15-20 at the end of the quarter.

Hmmm, missed the Ole Miss game but senior night and Horston didn’t start-did I see that in box score? LVs Playing Connecticut and Horston, the projected 5th draft pick, comes off the bench. RJ comes off the bench or does not plat at all for half the season. Meanwhile, Striplin is unmovable from the starting line up. Those starts should go to either of Franklin and Hollingshed.

seriously Kelly. What you doing? I mean look, Puckett had to tell her she wanted to sit down, and when Kelly still said no, she refused to play defense until she did.

Been looking at the stats for the last several SC games, and Cooke, Boston, and Beal stand out for top scoring. Cooke has been high scorer, or in the top two for the last few games. She must be stopped, or at least slowed down significantly. She and Beal shoot 3’s, and cannot be given open shots. Beal is 6’1. Boston and Cardoso get rebounds under the basket. They are 6’5 and 6’7 respectively. Cooke, Fletcher, and Raven are all in the 5’8/5’9 range. Ampere is 6’4.

For us, Hollingshead is 6’5, Striplin 6’3, Franklin 6’1, and Horston, Rickea, and Sara are all 6’2. Our best rebounders are Horston, Rickea, and Franklin under normal conditions, Hollingshead is improving.

Walker is 5’8 and should be able to slow down Cooke. She and Powell should be able to stick with their shorter players. That leaves Horston and Rickea and our posts to guard their taller players. Our best rebounders, Horston and Rickea, will have to out jump Boston and Cardoso for rebounds, and Walker and Powell will be in the mix, too.

If we take more 3’s and make them, great. If we miss, the rebounds may go out past Boston and Cardoso waiting under the basket. Our shooting must be good. If Horston is making shots, great, if not, she needs to pass to Rickea or an open 3 point shooter.

Both Striplin and Hollingshead can shoot away from under the basket, and they’ll need to. Of course Rickea and Horston will score and we need some 3s from Tess, Sara, or whomever. Another possibility, and I am not saying we should do this, but besides Sara helping under the basket and outside shooting, we have Justine at 6’4, who might be able to help.

No one said it would be easy, but any team can be beat.

GLV!

With 20 plus turnovers, an unfocused, out of control Horston, and a defensive shutdown on Jackson, I don't think the Lady Vols can keep this game close through the 2nd half, if it's not out of hand at the end of the 1st half. The only consistent 3 point threat is Darby and a pesky guard can neutralize her. The post players will have their hands full trying to be effective without fouling out and guard play, for the most part, fails to inspire much, if any, confidence. Hope I'm wrong, but I see SC taking this one 78-63 barring any injuries or foul troubles for SC's stars.

From Knox News:

Why Tennessee could have success:

“South Carolina has a historically good defense. But with how Tennessee is playing offensively right now, it's a matchup nightmare.”

“Rickea Jackson is virtually impossible to guard. The 6-foot-3 forward has averaged 24.3 points while shooting 68.2% in the last three games. Jordan Horston has stepped up her playmaking and scoring to help lead Tennessee to 85.3 points per game in its last three wins.”

Score prediction:

“South Carolina 76, Tennessee 70: The Lady Vols have improved enough to make this game competitive, but I don't know if they're at the point where they will overcome a defense like South Carolina. Thursday's game will come down to discipline and execution of game plans, because the Lady Vols are battle-tested enough to compete with anyone.”

Quick to criticize, without the facts...😒

Jordy was late to a team function, so her punishment was starting on the bench.

"Hmmm, missed the Ole Miss game but senior night and Horston didn’t start-did I see that in box score? "

why do I feel like it’s going to be a blowout. Cocks 100 UT 51 🍊*lord hear my prayer 😫
I've predicted 15-20 pt loss, and I don't think DS has any interest in humiliating us. She has great respect for Pat, no grudge against KJH, and no need for a huge margin for seeding. Already got that wrapped up.

DS gives me a pain, but IMO she's a bit too classy to rub our noses in it.

Usually when you have questions the answers are a google away. Horston's nonstart due to tardiness was very well documented and discussed. Starting Striplin and not starting Rickea are in no way comparable, bc frankly, Striplin and Rickea are in no way comparable as players. Striplin never plays more than the first 2 1/2 mins and basically is fouls to give. Then Jill, who is foul prone, comes in and gets by far the most mins. Striplin currently only gets about 10 or so a game, and always gets a couple of buckets and a few rebounds. And truthfully, none of them can guard Boston, much less Boston and Cardoso.

And WTF are you talking about w Puckett? That is prime BS.

I remember growing up when South Carolina was literally 0-15 in conference play and no one in their gym and now selling out home games. Dawn Staley I give kudos when it’s due but yes she did a good job In obviously turning their program around. UT needs to get out of the oh we need a ‘Lady Vol former Vol’ player and get some one outside and make changes STAT!!!! otherwise this program is going to be a ODU or LSU.

Yes to TO's being the difference. For LV's to keep it close and have a chance they cannot have the 20+ TO's they are capable of having in a game. They can match SC in other categories but the TO's can and will be their undoing if not controlled.

IMO, more a gut feeling also, SC defense will outshine the LVs. Hence, it's about putting points on the board or the lack thereof. I think RJ and JH will struggle to get 40 points. Where do the additional 30+ points come from. I think Darby will have her chances, but she will be basically neutralized. I see it as SC 75 LVs 57.
