Game Thread Lady Vols vs Ole Miss

We might gain more offensively from Dunbar than we lose defensively. Warlick still maintains her 1975 fixation on defense while failing to notice that her crap offense is the reason we lose games. Does she realize that when you can't score more than 55 points a game, you have almost no margin for error; and that you are almost guaranteed to be in close contests no matter who you play? We HAVE to play great defensively to have a chance--even against mediocre teams. And most of the teams in the SEC are mediocre.

Warlick will regret not redshirting Moore earlier in her career. To say that we could use her next year would be an understatement. Moore has some offensive punch--she can run the floor and she can score. I like her mobility compared to Russell, who is sort of an old-school lumberer.

Nia Moore scored a bunch of points against exhibition caliber teams.

Kortney Dunbar is a liability defensively.

Meme Jackson played pretty bad earlier in the season, a turnover machine, plus she has been injured. She played well tonight.

You don't have a clue.

Because of Nia Moore 24.0 pts per game/4 games we won those 1 exhibition and 3 nonconference games. Without her we lose.

The entire Lady Vol squad are a defensive liability that's why they're 7-6 SEC.

MeMe Jackson if developed and coached by someone that knows how to do those 2 things MeMe would be getting more minutes and helping the team.

You are a Holly Warlick bootlicker.

Fire Holly, NOW!:)

I so much agree with this, I was hoping she would nor come back this year and play her a lot next year.

I agree, but if Jasmine can play two more years, then we should be alright, but will Jasmine still be aggressive Jasmine, especially in 4 and 1 out and five out offense. Yeah, I like Nia's game.

Holly's is actually very good..this has been the only down year in her 4 as HC

2012–13 Tennessee 27–8 14–2 1st NCAA Elite Eight
2013–14 Tennessee 29–6 13–3 T–2nd NCAA Sweet Sixteen
2014–15 Tennessee 30–6 15–1 T–1st NCAA Elite Eight
2015–16 Tennessee 16–10 7–6

:)

Nice. 2015 -2015 TBD!

That presumes that Moore wanted to stay in school for another year. That is not always the case.

Are The Lady Vols going to be able to field a team next year? Lose 2 seniors and who knows how many transfers. I dislike HOLLY DOOLEY WARLICK so much that I hope Middleton, Dunbar, DeShields, T'ea Cooper, & Nared all transfer out. I would miss seeing these ladies play, but I'd let em go to get rid of HDW!! Maybe if Dave Hart cut ties with Warlick, then maybe we wouldn't have any transfers. I don't know HDW personally, and I'm sure she's a fine person. But as far as a coach...we shouldn't insult other coaches by calling HDW a coach. Rant over...I'll hang up and listen.

These ladies aren't going anywhere, most these ladies Tennessee was/is their dream school, the dream was to play for the Lady Vols, and restore the Lady Vols to the top of women basketball, that was most of their goals.

Oh you want that instant Championship, Oh that instant team. Oh that instant final four. I believe in them. Go Lady Vols.

Now I don't necessarily like their play, or always agree with Holly's decision, but we're still not playing good basketball, so we can get better, and I feel like most teams are hitting their peak, we haven't even touched, scratched ours.

Every team is different. Every year is different. Every game is different.

I'll hang up and listen, wuteva didn't nobody even calleed you. :p

Dat part. She prolly don't see anything changing next year. Another year to ride the bench! I'm outta here! Deuces.

Yes, I did not like this coaching staff usage of Nia Moore! And she's not great, great, but I think she could have been serviceable, a 8 points, 4 rebound, 1 block, 1 to 2 assist player with 15 to 20 minutes.

So we won? Legions of the miserable in this thread...you guys do know that you are the minority and that you are free to chose another team to cheer for right?

I'm a fan but I don't live and die LV BB - imo the miserable are the blue-wearing core LV supporters. How can they not be, as this once top program continues it's spiral towards mediocrity.

Ole Miss was up a point near the end. Gino wins that game by 40+, Muffet and Dawn by 35, and Mulkey by 30. All after emptying the bench inside 10 minutes.

I always knew there would be a huge drop off when Pat hung it up, but this? A nail biter at home against the worst team in the conference, a team that has won one of the last fourteen games? This is worse than unacceptable. This team is a joke. It would need three promotions to make it to bad. I know the talent isn't in the same class as Connecticut or Notre Dame, but there are coaches out there who'd give their eye teeth for this roster, and would do wonders with it. They're doing ten times better with one tenth the talent. I'm sorry, but having a connection with Pat shouldn't be a consideration for head coach.

I think the scenario you put forth where enough girls transfer that it forces the hand of Dave Hart is unlikely not necessarily from the standpoint of him letting her go/her resigning but that a change would entice the girls to stay. Deciding to transfer is a process that can take months and once you've reached the threshold of deciding its best for you it can be hard to reverse that decision. Holly leaving doesn't guarantee pending transfers reverse course.

I think Holly has took Diamond and a couple other players and turned their confidence and their games into what you see now. No one can really have a great game in that ugly offense unless they are a great three point shooter.

DD's game is no different now than it was at NC. She's always been a me-me-me player who only puts up points when she gets 20+ shots per game. With her height and hops, she ought to be able to get a dozen boards a game but she doesn't box out. She's never been a great defender due to lack of effort. And she's never been a team leader. Big surprise that we're seeing the same things here. This was all very predictable the minute her transfer was announced.

One thing that was pleasant for me last night was NOT having to watch the ball passed inside and the other team come out with the ball, with no shot taken by the LVs. That just kills me to watch because you know, you KNOW, 75-80% of the time it will result in a turnover.

This isn't personal, but if Holly is still the head coach next year, I'm done with the program until a change is made. I can't handle seeing the once premier women's basketball program being driven into a ditch. From football to tiddly-winks, if its in orange, I want it to be something I, as an alum, can take pride in.

You should consider yourself DONE WITH THE PROGRAM through the 2016-2017 season AT LEAST, because Holly will be the coach next season.

I, too, will not attend until a change is made. What I saw earlier this year was NOT Lady Vols basketball. I suspect there are others who have experienced a fine steak will find a Mcburger to be...salty and not satisfying. ...but there will always be some who "can't tell the difference"...

Hope you enjoy being miserable then..no way UT fires a woman winning 80% of her games and who was the first UT player to have a number retired immediately at the end of her career

UT fired a coach with a winning percentage of 75%, and said coach also won a Natty. I believe you are delusional about CHW's job security. She will NEVER sniff a national championship as the HC of TWBB. IMHO. Just maybe her number being retired will be enough reason to keep her at least 20 more years. Yeah, right. :thud:

Try this guys..Go stand in front of the mirror and repeat this over and over till it sinks in
"I'm angry because the team I cheer for only beat a bad team by a few points"

You stand in front of a mirror and repeat, "I'm ok with mediocrity. :)

You make the mistake of comparing football to wbball...for all we know Hart is ecstatic because he was able to use that small profit in women's bball to help upgrade to a new DC..with Pat the women's program was losing 700k a year now we are making 29k

They fired a coach that won a NC, let me know when HW wins one.

It takes a lot of things to go right to win the NC. I would think the goal should be to be in the conversation for one. We are not in that conversation, by the media or the fans, and that with a seemingly loaded roster this year...

...to give her one more year is a short leash that will be used for negative recruiting as well as an opportunity for some of our players to abandon ship.

Supporters of HOLLY WARLICK DOOLEY have orange colored glasses on. I love all the ladies and support the ladies on the team. But they are being coached badly.
