Game Thread Lady Vols vs Oral Roberts

It'll be interesting to see how well these numbers stack up when we play our 4 ranked out of conference opponents (Texas, Rutgers, Stanford, and Oklahoma State) before we start the SEC schedule.

I'm a bit disappointed our OOC schedule seems to be pretty weak by traditional standards. Even our unranked opponents in past years have had better RPI's than the teams we are facing this year.

Since Stanford beat UCONN, that'll be a big game and test. If we can win or even win convincingly, that would be a big confidence booster.
Baylor dropped the home and home last year, and UNC dropped us this year. That affects our OCC strength; it's hard to go out and pick up a good team at the last minute..and then some of them don't want to play you. Pat never ran and Holly isn't. She's just having to chase them down!:p

Holly has a great problem to have you wonder how she is going to cut the rotation. I guess Moore, Harrison, and Graves can be the post rotation. We have a lot of point guards Reynolds is not a scorer but when you have 7 steals and 7 assists you are going to play a lot of minutes. Carter comes in and gets six steals. Massengale goes off for 21 points in 22 minutes. Dunbar 10 points and 6 rebounds in half a game 2 of 2 from three.
The only negative I can find is 13 turnovers and Oral Roberts didn't force a one of them.
So Jones comes back and Burdick is eligible to play again and Nared playing so well a lot of options for Holly.

PG-Reynolds, Massengale, Middleton, Carter
SG-Massengale, Tucker, Carter, Dunbar, Middleton
C-Harrison, Moore
PF-Graves, Moore, Burdick
WF-Nared, Jones, Burdick

We can press hard all game on any team.

I like your idea of the rotation but after watching both games I would have to adjust my rotation a bit. Tucker will probably be out for a while (based on her "injury" lol and still have to sit her suspension for missing classes I wouldn't play her until we play Texas on November 30th as I feel that is our only true test. Also with the additions of Dunbar, and Nared I feel the experiment with Jasmine Jones at the SF is over. Lets face it she is a PF (just a tad undersize but the most athleticism) and thats where she should play. Burdick has been a big disappointment to me seeing as though she was the number 3 recruit of her recruiting class. Her career at UT has been some what of a failure in my opinion and I would limit her minutes/make her work for it even more with this being her last year and the younger players showing that they are all about our program. I love Reynolds and feel she deserves to start. She is a pass first PG but when she needs to score she gets it done (as we saw in the SEC tournament and the NCAA tournament).

If I was Holly My Rotation would be as follow:

Starters/Bench
PG-Reynolds/Carter (Middleton would play here in pinch)
SG-Massingale/Middleton/Tucker
SF-Dunbar/Nared/Burdick (Tucker would see time here)
PF-Graves/Jones (Burdick sees time here also)
C-Harrison/Moore (Graves only if we are in foul trouble)

Not a bad lineup But there is noway Dunbar starts right now at the SF. She needs more time to work on her rebounding and foot speed. don`t get me wrong she is a very good shooter and we need that i would use her coming of the bench. And as for the two games that we have played and won yes a win is a win but not putting much into them. As for Jones you are correct the experiment at SF should be over and done but you know Holly ? As for Grave we all need to remember Graves get`s her shot blocked a lot in the post because she don`t have the lift and at 6-2 is under size. I know Holly and dean worked with her over the summer on getting her a faceup game. but what i don`t understand is why did it take 3 years to get her to work on a faceup game ?.
