That 1st quarter looks to be a season Achilles heel for the Lady Vols.

This time, though?

They went on an 11- 0 run and sealed the deal.

Good job LVs.

Just checking in to see if praise is being dished out as much as negativity is when we lose. The girls deserve some positive don't they? Good job by players & coaches today! Go Lady Vols!

When I got my stream working it was 15-4 Stanford. I didn't see any zone from Stanford after that point.

If they did play zone in the first, I wonder why they abandoned it?

Great Christmas present indeed .Now they need to build on this and go on a winning streak......they need to shoot better and go to zone a greater % of the game especially when guards are overmatched by quickness.....and I would add hope the opposition plays man defense.

I thought we really had a good idea today about shot selection and playing a tough in the face zone. I don't know how many points we got in the paint but I expect we finally got more than the opponent which hasn't happened in the losses.
I was glad to see Reynolds try to do something offensively she was the difference today making a few of those 8 footers where she hasn't even tried to get them in previous games.

OT WAS NOT A ZONE IT WAS A SAGGING NAN DEFENSE HAD TO RESPECT OUR SHOOTERS WE DO HAVE .. we won period next big game Kentucky let's win that and get on. Roll

I did not think before the game and when it was 15-4 the ladies had a chance against a pretty good Stanford team. I will say I was wrong and if they play like they did today for a full game rather than 3 quarters we should not lose 14 games or more this year.. I don't know who was wearing Jordan Reynolds shorts today but I hope she stays in them for the rest of the year. I will enjoy this one since it was really the only game they seemed to play hard for most of the game.

The only coaching error i saw was DD needed to be subbed the final 3 mins of the third...She picked up the 2nd and almost the 3rd foul in those 3 mins....Her body language showed she was ready to sit.

There is an argument for making her play through this "momentary give up propensity" and it worked this time...But be careful with this

You need to go back and review the 1st qtr ,,,it was indeed a zone....In fact a 2/3 zone.

We have finally found some common ground but better shooting doesn't only apply to Nared and Deshields but the whole team.

We don't shoot well enough. DD was 5 for 17. That is not good--borderline bad. Same with Nared. Reynolds was way under 50 percent. It is a constant problem with this team.

We won this game because Stanford made only 4 of 20 three-point shots.

Were a terrible shooting team but the shot selection today was very good. We had a lot of shots that rolled all over the rim and if four or five of those go in would definitely help the total. I think we have to hope to shoot 40 percent and play defense well enough to keep the other team around the same. Then win with less turnovers and more rebounds.

I only saw 3 o DD shots that were what I can questionable. She has to create so many times that at times there will be questionable. I would like her to hit more that 5 with that number and I think she should and can. MR has got to be more assertive when she gets the ball because everyone stands around and waits on her to do something. Most anytime a big has to bounce the ball to make a move to the basket a smaller player can give them hello.:mf_surrender:
