She was upset

Sunday who wasn't? You have to ask why does the team come out looking like Winthrop one quarter of so of every game. Why can't they maintain that energy 40 minutes? It is a question they will have to answer you can't coach it into them they have to figure it out. They have a game plan stick to it.

Well, here's the thing. As everyone here knows, I'm a fan of Kim Caldwell and think she and her staff are doing a tremendous job, with the possible exception of providing adequate end-game preparation for the players.

The other night she had every right to be upset, but she appeared to me to not accept any responsibility for the loss and I, personally, believe she very well should have.

To get caught standing and looking in the last moments of the game is something, I think, could be avoided with regular training in practice for scenarios such as what happened Sunday. Now, maybe Kim did remind them to defend and box out and of the possible actions Vandy could try right before the last play was initiated, but I don't think that happened.

Of course she was upset. I noticed her eyes were slightly glassy in the post-game presser, so perhaps she'd gotten a little teary-eyed over the loss. Everyone associated with Tennessee was upset. I felt like retching myself.

But Kim probably owned part of that loss. She even went on as if the team gave no effort in the game, and that was, in my opinion, a steaming pile of bullsh!t.

I'm still very much on Team Kim and the Lady Vols.

SC defeated Texas with their superior defense. I hate to say this, but the LVs do not have this level of defense. Remember, "Offense sell tickets, defense wins games", famous quote by CPS. CKC must change her play focus to defense instead of offense if she wants to defeat good SEC teams like Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, SC and Kentucky. The LVs lead the WCBB in scoring offense, however they are 280th in scoring defense. This is quite a discrepancy! BTW, I am not a negaVol or a troll. I am being realistic.

Seeing this steak and talking of Texas reminds me of my time in San Antonio. I was stationed at Medina AFB...Me and some of my larger friends would take the challenge of the "Hungry Farmer" steakhouse. If you could eat the meal it was free... A salad that was just about as much as a head of lettuce,,a 2lb steak, a baked potato that was the size of a cantaloupe, and a 21oz schooner of beer

Coach, when I was an EMT, I had several emergency calls to steak houses throughout the county.....Steak getting caught in the throats of patrons was often the culprit that led to many of the choke related deaths.......

There was a time my unit was on roving patrol and happened to be near a restaurant that called for help; customer not breathing.....The lady's face was blue and she was fairly young....Her friends said she had grabbed her throat so I knew it was not heart related....Anyway, I actually got the steak out of her throat and she took a deep breath and started yelling for air....Took her to hospital and she checked out OK/ If my unit had not been near by, forget about it. She would have been toes up.

Public Announcement:
When eating steak, slow down eating and chew completely....Also, try and not talk a lot while swallowing steak...It can get lodged in your throat because of it's thickness...This may save someone's life someday.

Now back to your gametalk...

Thank GOD you were there, GameTime.

Kinda had the same thing happen to my little girl at a steak house when she was just a toddler. Wifey (a nurse) and I were waiting on our table and talking to ourselves while the baby was walking around us underfoot. Next thing we saw, she had turned blue and was on the floor. She had swallowed a damn peanut hull. :( Thank God Wifey had long skinny fingers and managed to dislodge the obstruction in time. It was very very close..... Still scares the hell out of me to think about it.

choking is truly scary
true story...
1AM leaving a g-friends house (Atlanta). I had given her a box of choc/cherries,,,she gave me one for the road...while driving down Holcomb Bridge rd I popped it into my mouth. The sudden rush of the sugary liquid made me gasp and I started choking on it. As luck/God would have it a red light loomed. I stopped, slammed it into park and opened the door and ran to the car next to me. WIthout any sign or signal I opened his door and pulled him out of the car and wrapped his arms around my belly and started to place his hands in the proper place. He realized that I was chocking and started to thrust his clasped hands into my abdomin,,,the cherry shot across his hood...Cars were beginning to pile up so I began to walk back to my car,,,He said,,"Did I just save your life?"...I looked back at him, smiled, and thanked him,,,drove up the road and pulled over and sat there shaking for a couple of minutes.....The memory of that time is as vivid today as it was that day
