ESPN2 will have the broadcast with Courtney Lyle, Carolyn Peck and Tamika Catchings calling the game.

From the UT game article....

Va. Tech features five players scoring in double figures, led by 6-6 All-American and 2022 ACC Player of the Year Elizabeth Kitley (20.3 ppg./11.6 rpg.).

Other double-figure scorers include Georgia Amoore (13.3), Kayana Traylor (12.5), Taylor Soule (10.9), Cayla King (10.4) and Ashley Owusu (10.4),

VT has beaten Kentucky and Missouri from the SEC and Nebraska from the Big Ten.
That looks like six players scoring double figures..

I expect this game to be closer than we’d like, but if we can find someway to win, that’s all that matters. My key matchup is down low with Key and Kitley. Key shutdown Kitley last year, can she do it again? I expect a big game from both Jordan and Rickea. VT has no answers for them. I also expect a better game performance by Tamari since she’s battling down low. She cannot get into foul trouble, and if she establishes herself early offensively, may be able to get Kitley in foul trouble.

TN: 74
VT: 64

Would love for Tess Darby to open up the paint with some spot up 3’s. Take care of the basketball and play with urgency and establish ourselves early and do not take the foot off the pedal!
Just have the offense go through Horston and Jackson, then rebound like the LV’s are capable of. Somewhere that defense and rebounding prowess from last year is still there , have to find it again. It’s really confusing since almost all the same pieces are still there. Getting the defense back today should be the top priority.

This has the feeling of a coming out party for the home team, I think UT shows out today. All you need from Key in this game is to focus on rebounding and good defense. Let the offense come to her.

Sounds like 👍🏽 offense will have to run through Horston,Powell, and Key today. Jackson is out.

Virginia Tech is a very good team. Key kept Kitley in check last season and will need to today as well. Liz likes that baseline fadeaway and TK blocked almost every shot she attempted last season. I’m sure she’s been thinking about it since last year.

Amoore is a really dynamic guard, who ever is checking her has got to make her life miserable today. I think we should make it difficult for her to catch, try to force someone else to run their offense. She’s their spark that really gets them going offensively. Then it opens things up for Kitley.

Just hearing the news of who all is out. Not a good sign. If TK is our only available big im afraid we are in trouble. She seems to be on a minutes restriction so I don’t think she can go anywhere near a full 40. Striplin is going to get her moment in the sun today…..

I just hope we have a full, healthy unit by March. This has been a rough and bumpy start. I’m not writing this one off but it did just become much more difficult on short notice.

And sadly we never get any sympathy points with anyone. Other teams will have a star out and lose a game and it’s all you hear all season. “Well so and so was out that game which really affected the outcome.”

I still expect a TN win today. Jordan Horston is that good. This game becomes important for Karoline Striplin and Justine Pissott.

Ardmore and Key ate good too. Striplin will get some minutes. Big game for Pissott because she gets to sit 40 minutes in a bench spot closer to Coach.
