Game Thread: SEC: Lady Vols v Wildcats

I have really tried to be positive, but we all need to come to the reality that we are no longer an elite program, maybe it was Pat..It still boggles my mind that highlands we have had since Pat, played for her, but have no fire in their coaching style...Maybe it is a lack of talent, but these young women have played basketball their entire lives, & seem to be seeing a basketball for the very first time...Most of their turnovers have absolutely nothing to do with the defense...I don't know what they do in practice, but whatever the routine, they need to change it entirely...Teams are supposed to improve as the year goes on & as they play more games together, but our women don't look any better then they did when we played ETSU...Horston & Keys, look the same as they did in November, & that is entirely on the coaching staff...I am not suggesting that Harper shouldn't be our coach, but saying she has not had a good year either...it's just really sad how far we have fallen, & it hard to see why light at the end of this dark tunnel
Highlands should have been the "the coaches", so upset I didn't proof read

It is coaching malpractice that a one legged Lou ends up guarding KY's best player over and over again.

That was a hallmark of Holly's teams. Our opponents would always get whatever match-up they wanted. That's still the case.

That girl picked up her dribble 17 feet from the basket and took three steps. Screw the stupid NBA "gather rule" crap, that is just ridiculous. What is the point of even bothering with rules when they let players do that?

In the next 3 years we will find out if this program is done being elite for a long time. Held on to the last coach way, way too long. That is crystal clear.

This program is gone. The players are lost and quite frankly body language looks the same as it does the past few years. If I were Rennia Davis I decide to be a grad transfer and go to a program that is not afraid to compete and win.

The thing about bad players with good attitudes is you want to pull for them and feel bad saying bad things but they are still bad players.

The bad thing is that there is no help on the way. The players who are coming are worse than the ones who are here so this year or next year will be the high water mark short of recruiting picking up a huge amount.

She needs to go make $ nothing left for her to do here.

I think the fall is complete
No that was about 2 or 3 years ago. I'm surprised how many people don't realize how bad things were. This year, not this game, is actually a baby step of improvement. More wins, beat who they should beat. Obvs still not near beating a good team.

Because this team is very young and inexperienced, had a major injury, and a new coach, I'm waiting till next year to go off the deep end. Historically, a year older has not been a year better. Maybe Harper can reverse that trend, we'll see.

I was pulling for Kellie but I just don't think she is the answer based on the chemistry that is apparent that we just don't have. In Pat era the only players that she would have on this team would be Horston and Davis. Man it hurts that this program has went to ****!

There is one piece of help - Zaay Green. I have no idea if it will be enough, but I expect the turnover issue to settle a bit with her (hopefully fully recovered) out there. Not sure about the rest.
