I think tough cookie is authentic for her. Maybe a little bit exaggerated right now as she establishes herself with the big girls for the first time. Genuine no nonsense is a good description. I just think she throws coachspeak in pressers to keep it short as possible and not give real info.
I'm fine w all that as long as she's humble and open to learning which she definitely is. I was also glad to hear her say she had misjudged the rigors of the season and would adjust. Got to get really good at reading that for her system to work. She's shown good willingness to adjusr
When she's not giving tough love as you say, she is very personable to them. Just watch their interactions. They love her.I have read between the lines in early interviews when she talked about her sisters and dad and how they interacted, and so I do suspect she's genuinely a tough cookie. "Tough love" is likely her highly competitive family's normal way to communicate.
Personally I'd like to see her lighten up for the post-season. I don't know if others noticed or not, but I always noted how Pat Summitt came across differently once post-season play started, and I think it may have been a matter of her thinking that if the players didn't know what to do by this point, then no amount of chewing them out or being an all-serious tough cookie is gonna help now. Pat usually came across way more chilled out when relating to the players at this time out year.
We are lucky to have both of these women as members of the LV family! Proud of them both.View attachment 726106Kim and Kellie were great together on SEC Now.
I don’t understand how anyone can dislike Kellie as a broadcaster. She gets more relaxed and natural every day. She’s knowledgeable and looks great on screen. I thought she was great with Kim as Kim was with Kellie. Kim broke into a big smile when Kellie first asked her a question. And how great is it to have another VFL as an analyst!
As I have said from the beginning, Kellie is a national championship LV point guard and an All-American, who gave her all as player and as coach.
If we are lucky we’ll get to see them together on The Summitt in TBA one day, Kellie being honored with a championship team returning to Knoxville at a game. And getting an huge applause. And Kim with a team that is rolling.
I really don’t think there are many people who don’t understand this. I’m really happy with them both.
@RespectAPA Interesting +/- stat for Coop today. We win by 40. Coop was +39 in 23 minutes meaning we only won by 1 while Coop was on the bench -- kind of wild.
