Game Thread: SEC Tournament First Round. #18/14 Lady Vols (9 seed) vs. Texas A&M (16 seed). Wed., March 5, 11 am ET, SECN

Per Bart Torvik, that was our best defensive effiency game this season. We had a 56.9 defensive rating - previous best was not even close, a 70.8 against Samford in the first game of the season (previous SEC best was 71.3 against South Carolina).

It was also our first 100 "game score" since the back-to-back Auburn/Ole Miss wins. Unfortunately, this was still our 3rd worst offensive rating game of the season, 3rd to only the last two games against Kentucky and Georgia.

It is always awkward even if it is your job when you are in this situation. It takes a person being able to put aside their feelings to handle this. Has nothing to do with "it being your job". Kim has the job she had and is coaching players she coached.

Additionally, with the role Kellie is supposed to be able to ask the tough questions - I'm sure she is thinking how to ask questions without the crazy Vols fans making a big deal of her questioning things she should be questioning.
Tough questions on SEC Now?
Not so much, mostly soft toss…

I think the game is just what we needed. It affirmed that we do have team chemistry (did you see how happy the team was in their interactions and support for each other), that talk of Cooper leaving is 100% gossip (some of her interactions with Coach are priceless, even the negative ones reveal a really close connection), and that it set the stage for us to beat the hell out of Vandy!

Mush as this group downs Kellie who is no longer coaching this shows her class to interview kim.. and no one can take that from her, because most of you would not be able to do that if u gotnfored from your job and had to interact with your replacement, of if u beark up wit someone and u gotta be around the new mate
If I got paid what she got paid to not coach any longer at Tennessee, I’d be fine conducting interviews with a smile. Plus collecting from the SECN/ESPN. Double dip

I noticed a chest bump with Kim that last time she exited the game. She good… 😊

Coach could use a class on pressers too...she comes across as "curt" very often
To me, she comes across as genuine. Very little "coach-speak." Kim Caldwell is not perfect. Some adjustments clearly need to be made. She is still learning, but Lady Vol fans should love her personality and how she carries herself.

I have absolutely no idea what happened to this team a couple of weeks ago, but whatever it was it must have really been impactful. This team looks absolutely lost on offense. For reference, Alabama lead A&M 29-8 after 1 quarter.

The ONLY positive is that Cooper's ankle injury has slowed her down so she at least doesn't turn the ball over every possession as she has this season.
Just stop with the Cooper crap. She is our best player.

Double. Dip? From who? The universe? Are you implying she's being paid by UT to do both? BC thats the only way its a double dip. Many, many coaches broadcast while on buyouts.

I see your Harper Derangement Syndrome remains a bottomless pits.
Yep, that looked a little uncomfortable and I'm not sure for who. Maybe it was just me getting that vibe.
I do think its just us, or others who are looking for it. I'll bet anyone not knowing the situation wouldn't have noticed at all. I'll also bet this wasn't the first time they've talked. Neither the SEC nor Kellie or Kim would have put them in that situation on air if it was the first time they'd spoken.

Man Kellie has improved so much in a short time. She was brutal at first.

I'm the opposite, I think Kim is pretty much all coach speak in pressers. Plays info very close to the vest. Gives away nothing
