I think a point that is missing in this conversation is that Tennessee actually just had some bad luck in the 2nd half. In the 1st half, they were missing shots because of rushing and trying to gain the advantage. I think that kept them from building a more comfortable lead than the 3pt margin at halftime.
In the 2nd half watching the replay is when the bad luck hit. I saw about 4-5shots including threes from Karo, Spear, and Powell that rim out. All three good looks and in rhythm. In the 4th, Rickea had a jumper rim out.
Those shots with Tennessee leading or tied and if they dropped even half of them it would’ve changed the outcome.
I know someone playing expert will say SC missed opportunities too and yeah sure they did.
Point is, the LVs when they make shots can beat any team.
When they make shots and play defense they can be a contender.
Hopefully tomorrow is the start of them playing good defense and offense consistently… with luck!
