Game Thread - Tennessee Lady Vols vs #2 Shady Trees & Referees

I wouldn’t blame Sara at all if she decided to hit the portal. She would star on a team that actually runs offense.

The first half was as good on offense I’ve seen them run. Allow Horston and Jackson to get into the lane with a couple of shooters on the perimeter.

I get the history but I have adjusted my expectations like others here suggested and the season is more enjoyable. We are a spoiled fan base and that’s how our players have played recently. If we make the tourney I will be overjoyed.
We aren’t spoiled, we haven’t won anything in years. I feel like if we have Rickea and Jordan we can win any game. Rickea and Jordan need to play 30 mins a game

Why put Rickea back in the game only for Walker to over penetrate and get stuffed by the other teams leading shot blocker? With Horston in the game as well. That’s bad basketball.

I dont think wires to Walker's head would get the concept to sink in.

This is coaching failure. Harper made bad decisions throughout this game. what is she trying to accomplish with Jackson on the bench. I see why players want to leave. There is dysfunction with Kellie and Jackson. Its disgusting'

LADY VOLS FACE SUNDAY TEST AT STANFORD
• After playing six straight games at home, Tennessee
(7-5) heads west to test its mettle vs. No. 2/2 Stanford
(10-1) on Sunday at 12:03 p.m. PT (3:03 p.m. ET) at Ma-
ples Pavilion in a contest televised nationally by ABC.
• Interestingly enough, the Lady Vols and Cardinal will
meet on Dec. 18 for the fourth consecutive time and
the fifth occasion in the past six clashes.
• The trip to California will mark the Lady Vols' first true
road game since opening the 2022-23 campaign at
then No. 14/15 (now No. 3/4) Ohio State on Nov. 8.
• After a brutal early-season schedule of facing five
teams currently ranked in the polls (including four in
the top 10) left UT at 2-4 on Nov. 21, the Big Orange
have won five of their last six and carry a three-game
winning streak into Sunday's matinee.
• Stanford packs a five-game victory string of its own
into the match-up, with its only loss of the year coming
at home on Nov. 20 at the hands of No. 1/1 South Caro-
lina, 76-71, in overtime.
• In its last game, which was against a common foe, the
Cardinal took down No. 23 Gonzaga, 84-63, at Maples.
UT fell to the Zags, 73-72, in its final game of the Battle
4 Atlantis in The Bahamas on Nov. 21.
• Tennessee and Stanford will convene for the 39th time
in a series that dates back to 1988. UT holds a 25-13 ad-
vantage, but SU has claimed the past three meetings.
• This will mark the Lady Vols' first appearance at Stan-
ford since Dec. 18, 2019. Later that season, "COVID"
brought an immediate end to the campaign after con-
ference tournament play. The pandemic eventually
led to Stanford postponing its scheduled 2020 trip to
Knoxville until 2021 and UT's next journey to California
to this season.

WHAT DOESN'T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER
• Tennessee has already played five top-25 opponents,
including four teams that currently reside in the top 10
and three amongst the top 6.
• No. 2/2 Stanford will increase those numbers to six,
five and four, respectively.
• The Lady Vols met No. 3 Ohio State in the opener, No.
4 Indiana in game three, No. 10 UCLA in game five,
No. 23 Gonzaga in game six and No. 6 Virginia Tech
in game nine.

There is absolutely no use in playing Stanford on their home court. You won't be given a fair shake.

I would take them off the schedule and let them know why.

If you meet them on a neutral site then fine, but it is an exercise in stupidity to subject your team to this BS, and it puts their health at risk.

I like Kellie but in year 4 and can't figure out an offence and very little help side defense. The program is a shell of its former self and don't see much improvement over her tenure. May be time for White to evaluate his options.

She’s not the only one. Suarez played good minutes and had none. Striplin only 2
This team was, IIRC, the best or 2nd best rebounding team in the country last year, and brought back everyone except Rae Burrell, and added a bunch of talent in the portal. It just doesn’t make sense how much we’ve regressed in that department. Yes, losing Key hurt, but this team already wasn’t nearly as good on the boards as last year even when she was playing.

When we were up by 8 in 3rd quarter, we came down 3 times and quick shot about 5 seconds into the shot clock. We had no purpose—no discipline in our offense. Story of this team. The pieces are there except for quality coaching.

Dude it was the #2 team in the country and we got hosed by the officials.

We actually played great offensively for 3 quarters. Then we couldn’t get a call to save our lives.
