Just checked TWC sounds pretty bad - I would announce that tonight games are cancelled, if it was my choice

I would expect that the games will be postponed until tomorow. But it wouldn't surprise me if they played both games tonight though, if I remember correctly we had a game against Georgia in maybe 07 or 08 that ended at 2:30 am.

There are at least 3 confirmed tornadoes on the ground in/near OKC as of this post. And there could be more.

Global warming--but one of Oklahoma's blockhead senators, Inhofe, pretends it doesn't exist because oil and gas producers refuse to acknowledge that massive C02 emissions for many decades have caused a problem. A lot of flat earth types in Oklahoma and elsewhere. If other schools expanded their stadiums, they could move the World Series around, which IMO would be a good thing.

NCAA officially postponed tonight's games to tomorrow. They're working on adjusting the tournament schedule right now.

Although you're correct, I don't think we should make this political.

I did have someone argue global warming once by telling me that "its been colder the last couple years at my house than it ever has been". I always think it's funny when the 'global' portion of the trend is forgotten.

Never mind that we had biologists that have seen the consequences in animals and plants long ago and warned that humans were going to be next to feel the consequences. Frustrating.

As of now they're going to try to play the game at 11am CDT tomorrow. But heavy rain and storms are still hitting OKC right now and there are problems with flooding. It'll depend on the condition of the field.

Thanks Algore, but I believe there have been tornados before as well as periods of cooling/warming.

That's a valid point. But it doesn't make it any less threatening. It's like saying...

Well, there have been ice ages before - so no big deal.

I'll grant you this, the extent of which we're responsible is slightly debatable - there are a lot of natural sources of "pollution" if you will.

However, we're depleting our natural buffers at a faster pace recently (the organisms that have always absorbed our relatively normal concentrations of pollution).

I really believe agriculture and coal are the primary culprits.

What people also usually don't get isn't that global warming is about the world getting warmer, its about hotter summers and colder winters, and the more temperate climates becoming less temperate.

We can say that yes, OKC is in Tornado alley, always has been and always will be, but the signs are too much to ignore. You've got as good a chance to disprove evolution or gravity than global warming at this point.

Very true. Some areas are expected to get more severe winter snows, but milder summers. The key attribute is extreme weather will become more and more common.
