I get the mindset but it’s a cliche.
Real season started November 5th.
The rest will players in this system has started on teams that compete in the ACC and SEC conferences.
They just need to focus on themselves and keep working/winning.
Is it my imagination or is Sara getting up and down the court a lot faster these days? Go Lady Vols !!!
I would say the high is 13 and 3 and the low 10 and 6 both get you in the NCAA, but you certainly hope for good enough to get those two home games. The fact is regardless of the system were still like the fifth to sixth most talented team in the league. SC, Texas. LSU all have more talent. Oklahoma, Bama, and Ole Miss are the same or better talent level. Vandy and Kentucky also really good teams that we have to play on the road. All I am saying is we have been here before with high hopes that were dashed quickly when the SEC play started.
surprise a couple of those teams where we will be outmatched with the talent and coaching on the floor.
I would suggest that you try a couple of things, in this order;I'm using the ESPN App on Roku and it says I'm signed in via YouTube TV?
Good post! I really like Kim and this team but I'm expecting a really difficult SEC season this year with only a win or two above 500 (9-8 or 10-7). We have won them all thus far but Florida State, Iowa and even Memphis (for a while) pushed this team. I fear that teams with bigger inside players and quick guards will be able to handle our pressing defense, out rebound us and hold our shooters to lower percentages resulitng in losses. That said, I can't wait until Kim gets "her" style players in house and has a year or two under her belt. I think the future is really bright for Kim and the Lady Vols.We beat teams like we should - CHECK! Warm up games are done! That may or may not translate to a lot of wins in conference play.
We have played one ranked team. We have 17 games - 6 of those games are against teams in the top 10, 3 others against teams in the top 25. That is 9 out of 17 against ranked opponents with a chance that a few of the other teams may at some point land in the top 25 as the season progresses.
There are 8 other SEC teams that have 1 or less losses at this point and we play all 8 of them and UCONN.
We have a level of respect back for the program - but we have seen that before only to get into conference play then the bottom fell out. The next 4 games will determine what type of post season hopes we really have - thus the real season comment - we have the two ranked opponents at home (OU and LSU) and the two non-ranked opponents on the road.
Once again - in 2025 we will find out exactly if we have a team that can compete in the SEC and the NCAA.
I don't want us to go 12-0 only to follow up with an 8-9 record so hoping we win all the games we should and surprise a couple of those teams where we will be outmatched with the talent and coaching on the floor.
Agreed. If we weren’t dominating like we are, it might be different. As is, we look ready.I get the mindset but it’s a cliche.
