Game was lost in the trenches.

I still can’t understand what happened to our offense. First possession was the best we’d looked in a while. Nico looked so good that Kirk mentioned it in the drive. Then after that, we went back to the same ole same ole.
You mean when we drove the length of the field running the ball and scored late in the 2nd quarter. I honestly believe we win this game if we ran more in the 2nd half

The elite defense coordinators have figured out coach Josh's fast offense. The way to stop it is to send more people at the qb. Also, the TN player that dropped on the field because he was tired was embarrassing. You should be in shape this far into the season. Can't talk about Lane at Ole miss now. If the vols would put in a offensive scheme in the future it might help. This lining up, send the fastest receivers down the field and chunking the ball is not working anymore. Need to use everyone in the offensive unit. GA did. Did the vols use any tight ends? The fast offense has been figured out.
There are plays to be made in every game that we just aren't making with this personnel.

We need better players ....

UGA has more talent and it showed big time. Their WRs looked much better. Both lines looked better. Faster more explosive. What you saw was the difference between good recruiting and elite recruiting.

Nope. Their 5* have been getting whipped by 3* all year. On O in particular, they just flat out held and got away with it. Whether you are a conspiracy theorist who thinks the SEC had an agenda to get UGA into the playoff or think they just "let them play"... it would have been a different game had the holds on middle DLs been called. That and a phantom facemask at a critical time that the official who made the call could not have possibly seen.

The offensive line played well enough for us to win.

I hate to say it, the defensive line’s inability to get pressure on Beck lost us the game.

To me it was that simple . If we got pressure on Beck and made him uncomfortable we win. I truly believe if we got them again on a neutral field we would be in a good position to win making the right adjustments.
