OK I gotta tell you it was EVEN WORSE than this score indicates.

I was there, in person, watching five years of Tennessee football encapsulated in two red faced idiot trashcan minutes.
(I was there because we decided to take our band kids there for their Arkansas State Band Day event where a ton of high school kids got to play with Arkansas States superb band at halftime. Their football team may be led by an incompetent idiot, but the music program churns out many wonderful directors that serve the area. I got to meet a lot of them - I have been in SE Arkansas for years so I don't know that part of the state too well- it was a great experience).

Here we are, 11 minutes left in the game. I want to leave, the kids want to stay. That's fine, we can stay. It's 28-20, Arkansas State just needs to get a stop and they can make this a game.

3rd and 1, JMU calls a bootleg/Play Action FB Flat kind of play and A-State ****ing destroys it, though JMU's QB is able to launch the ball away in time to not get sacked.

4th and 1. The other team is going to go for it. Butch Jones lines his team up to make the stop.
And their HB explodes through the hole, looks like Barry Sanders for three seconds and just takes it to the house on a 25 yard carry for six.

WHERE HAVE WE ALL SEEN THAT BEFORE?! Then when A-State gets the ball back, they fumble it and JMU scores AGAIN! I was laughing my ass off because nothing feels more like watching Butch Jones - as I recall on VN back in those days - "Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" like that. A-State was kind of rolling, they had momentum. And it all collapsed like a wall that was laid poorly by its bricklayer.


Anyway go vols, I know the cfb community in other parts of the information superhighway are going to be pissed off that Gameday is back at Tennessee LOL

Thought Josh Pate didn't make it to LSU due to plane trouble. But I bet he'll come. Clay Travis has already announced he's coming.
