why do we all care so much about the freakin' announcers? my mom was going nuts every time damn opened his mouth...if you don't like what they say or how they say it fine, but what does it really matter at the end of the day? it had no bearing on the outcome of the game...it seems like we all have this big chip on our shoulders when it comes to the guys calling the game....

bad call on the INT? please explain.

The only thing i didnt like about Danielson was that he talked too much.

I agree. I didn't think Danielson was biased, he just talked way too much - and not very logically. Early in the 4th he praised Cut for not giving up on the run. Late in the 4th he said Cut would review film of all those running plays and say "What were we doing?"

Have none of you ever watched a football game before? The officials throw a flag on a blow to the QB's head every time. Regardless if someone pushed you into the guy or not, you gotta get your hands down. I would be more pissed at Mapu than the stupid officials. I hate the way that QBs get protected so much, but rules are rules and we have to learn to accept it when our team makes the mistake and not look through orange colored glasses on everything. Nothing I hate more than being at a game and seeing an obvious penalty against the home team and then having the replay confirm the foul, and the fans are too blind to believe what they are seeing.

not to mention the fact that they had just had a TD called back on a block in the back, that, well, let's just say the defended didn't see him cause his eye wasn't in his ear hole...

both teams benefited from perceived questionable calls...and in the end, they washed themselves out.

How do you explain, him saying we basically have a 21-20 game when it was still 14-20 and Florida was still on their side of the field.

And him saying the 3 losses to Florida team was mute because of a Florida win, when there was still 5 minutes left and Tennessee driving.

Those were OPINIONS that had a decided BIAS.

In general, announcers make predictions, and don't like to be wrong, so they call the game with a BIAS..As it turned out Danielson's OPINIONS came true making him all the more smug the next time he calls a game.

I detest this smugness more than the bias.

Announcers should take a page from Troy Aikman. He is BIASED he wants the Cowboys to win every game.

I have heard the most die-hard Redskins' fans who hate his three superbowl ring wearing fingers, admit he calls a fair game--even when the cowboys play -- He overcomes his BIAS for the sake of the viewers.

people tend to hear what they want to....i don't think it was all that biased. it wasn't unreasonable given the circumstances of 20-14 game to say that Florida could win a 21-20 game given how the game was going at that time. Uf in the 4th qtr flexed it's muscle and i think Gary was making his statement based on that.

i think people get frustrated hearing that kind of stuff, because, at the time it's being said, likely, it's also true. i think it's easier for the announcers to make such statements because of their objectivity...if he were a Florida fan, i would have expected him to be fairlyl nervous being down by a TD late in the game....i know the UF fans i had over were.

I think it was biased. He could have said "I think.." or 'I predict', but he stated it as fact.

Perhaps were are talking semantics, here but perhaps some should get a better understanding of the word BIAS.

i can do with out the dictionary link...i know what bias means. and from the sound of it, your post is full of bias, as you've already got a lean to how you feel about the issue.

if you are going to worry more about what damn has to say during a broadcast, where he is paid to give his opinion, rather than the game itself, that's your perrogative.

For me, it just doesn't matter, and had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, which makes debates like this meaningless.
