I'd retire too after going from covering the marquee SEC game of the week to trying to make Rutgers vs Northwestern interesting.
lol! Yeah, I posted during the season that going from announcing SEC games to the mostly boring B1G games is like a jail sentence. I’ll love having Charles Davis in the booth. I might actually watch the B1G games he announces.

He never really seemed to like the Vols in most matchups, but it’s not like they gave him much to like for over a decade. That said, he played in the NFL for 11 years and has been calling games since 1990. He was good at his job, and a lot of the time, he was right. He accurately called out Dooley, Jones, and Pruitt for their mess. I remember under all three, he could predict Tennessee’s plays to perfection multiple times per game. Those guys never stood a chance against strong coaching.

They’re getting Charles Davis? Now we need to go back to CBS.
Charles Davis...YES! CBS Sports veteran football analyst Charles Davis will succeed Danielson as lead college football analyst beginning with the 2026 season, calling CBS’ weekly marquee Big Ten games. Davis will continue as an analyst for the NFL ON CBS during the 2025-26 season.
