Gary has a local radio show here in Memphis and he pretty much said that he doesn't think Bruce will be the coach at UT much longer if he had to guess.

Great insight.
Where was the program before Pearl?
Sorry, but Brad Steven's probably wouldn't even leave Butler for Tennessee.
Who exactly do you think they'd hire?
Bruce Pearl was a home run. If you think coaches like him are a dime a dozen, then maybe you're the idiot.
Interesting for him to say that.
But, just from reading his piece, it sounds like Hamilton and Cheek were aware of this new info. It's new to us, but it sounds like they knew about this when they handled down the punishment/sanctions. If they were going to fire him, they probably would have done it last week.
It isn't about what Tennessee was before Pearl (which it did have some good periods, fyi), it's about it's ceiling after Pearl. UT has the facilities, fan base, one of the "big" conferences with high profile rivalries (Kentucky, Florida) and recent success. UT can afford to pay enough to find and pull a good coach.
Afterall, who the hell was Pearl before he came here?
We were a sleeping giant before him. We still have all the tools and toys for success even if he leaves.
Check out Tennessee's football facilities. Means nothing with poor coaches.
Prior to Tennessee, Bruce Pearl was the guy being blacklisted. He wont a division 2 championship. It didn't take him long to move up the ladder when he was finally given a chance. If he can take UWMilwaukee to a Sweet 16 and bring in top recruit after top recruit to Tennessee, it says a lot about him as a coach in my opinion.
