but that reeked just a bit of Gator honk. I know he tried to preface it with is Pearl support, but it definitely had a peculiar smell.

I'm not arguing with how he reached his conclusion, just the general tone.

I agreed as well. I've always respected Doyel, although at times I believe he goes a bit overboard.

This article wasn't one of those times, though.

yeah i think the bb findings are over. this has been going on for a year... if we where going to fire him we would have already done it. im behind pearl 200 percent. anyone who wouldint be is smokin crack.

John Brice said this is just the tip of the iceberg and they had been working on this story for 5 weeks anticipating when the news would break and had no clue how bad it really was until the press conference.

Fine, here you go: Tennessee also should fire athletics director Mike Hamilton. Him, I don't like. Him, I don't respect. Between the Dumb and Dumber football coaches he has hired, and the bogus sneaker-related hiring firm he paid to help him "find" Bruce Pearl in 2005, Mike Hamilton is one of the most inept, disingenuous college administrators I've ever seen. His football program is a joke. His basketball program is in major trouble with the NCAA. And he's the guy who hired every coach involved.

Mike Hamilton needs to go on general principle.

An impression Urban Meyer would be glad to confirm as accurate. Doyel readily admits if he has any rooting allegiance, it's to Oklahoma Football.

I can't believe Hamilton would fire Bruce Pearl but keep Raleigh.
Pearl is the only feather in Hamilton's cap, and he's already shown with Raleigh, he's extremely loyal to his hires.

Does ANYONE understand that even though I think Raleigh should be fired that he inherited some problems that were worse than what Kiffin had to deal with due to Fulmers in office decay?

I liked Doyel far better when he was Sportsline's college basketball guy. Not near as impressed with his work as a columnist.

Do you know why it will be a lot easier to convince a top notch baseball coach to take over the program now than it was when Delmonico took his ted kennedy lifestyle out of here?

We absolutely need to make a change in baseball. With Hamilton's record of hiring, we could possibly bring in someone who would never win another game. There are some good high school coaches out there we could get with the amount we pay.
