Gary Parrish's take on BP and Tennessee

So basically this guy is about 2-3 months late to the party? I mean the Petrino "point" was made a long time ago here.

Seriously, these media guys sound like they've just now started reading messageboards.

What are you talking about? Media guys talk about things that are relevant. Bruce Pearl to UT officially became relevant Saturday afternoon when Zo lost again to a sec bottom feeder and tennessee fans added about 20k signatures to bring back their beloved coach.

Saying the best UT can hire is a MVC coach might be right, Gregg Marshall is about as good as it get :hi:

As for Petrino, no, it would be like Arkansas rehiring Petrino not Louisville. I still don't understand why this is so complicated, Petrino didn't get fired from Louisville.

Did you listen to it? It makes sense if you listen to his take. He's not talking about NCAA violations. He's talking about the AD (Jurich, who many consider the best AD in the country) swallowing his pride and deciding to HIRE THE BEST COACH HE CAN!

Bruce Pearl would be the best hire Hart could make. Period.

Parrish even goes on to say that not only should UT hire Pearl but they should fire Cuonzo just to have the chance to hire Pearl because he won't be available if they wait until next season.

I'd love to have CPB back, but if that doesn't happen i'd still renew my season tickets if we hired Marshall, who like Pearl is a proven winner at every stop.

I'm talking about acting like he made some relevant "point" about Petrino. He's a good 2 months late with that comparison.

And you're crazy if you don't think Pearl to UT hasn't been relevant well before Saturday's loss.

Nobody was talking about BP to UT when Louisville hired Petrino. Well, nobody in national media. Plenty of people on here I guess.

It wasn't relevant nationally until now.

I'm going to absolutely roll on the floor laughing at all the Pearl fans when his hire doesn't happen later this year. I look forward to it...............

I heard it live. He actually didn't say for UT to fire Martin just to have the chance to get Pearl. He said that is something that Hart and UT will certainly discuss and need to discuss because Pearl won't be around next year. But I am fairly certain that he didn't say it should be done.

So because Marshall has 1 final four vs Pearl's 1 elite 8, he's a better coach? I'll keep that in mind for future reference.

I love Bruce, but I believe Marshall was a missed shot by Lofton from possibly coaching a 15 seed to a win over a 2 seed. Again, I love Bruce and did not want him fired. That said, Marshall is damn good.

Go back and listen to it. He didn't say "fire Cuonzo" but reading between the lines he's suggesting that UT should fire CCM in order to hire BP if they believe BP is better (which GP knows to be true) because BP won't be available next year.

Maybe I just caught the end of it. But the part that I heard he wasn't saying he would fire Martin and hire Pearl. He just said that Hart had to consider it because Pearl would soon find a job. I listen to Parrish almost everyday. I know his thoughts on Pearl.

They are making this comparison harder than Chinese arithmetic!

I misread your post. What I'm saying is, Pearl is our only best option left. Still lives in Knoxville, loves the University of Tennessee, a proven winner, probably a cheap hire, and more fan support. What more could you ask for?

For him not to cheat.

Guys, BP brought up Tennessee during the Wichita State game tonight. Soon.

I still can't believe we have some fans believe that even if he was offered the job, he wouldn't take it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that he wants to coach Tennessee basketball again so bad that he can't stand it anymore.

So Marshall isn't a better option?

Ok?

Yes, I think the job Marshall has done at Wichita State is more impressive than what Pearl did at UWM.

That's my opinion.
