Gator Fans- don't act like you care about basketball

Why pay $180 for a ticket through the athletic department for what appears to be another overmatched Big East opponent for UF in the Sugar Bowl? (see also Cincinnati 3 years ago).

The difference is we still have our coach which was your DC at the time. Don't count those chickens before they hatch.

You really think you can hang with them?

Sorry...looks like a 24-3 snoozefest to me. Is bridgewater going to play?

Yes he will be ready to go. Cant keep that kid down if you tried. And if the team doesn't show up like their fans wont then anythings possible. Charlie will have those boys ready.

You forgot the part about Cincinnati being undefeated and ranked MUCH higher than this UL squad.

I expect UF beat you guys fairly easily, regardless of your head coach. I reserve the right to be 100% wrong about that, but I like our chances.

One thing about Florida...their offense isn't going to score a lot. They usually pick up a cheap one with defense or special teams. So if UL happens to jump on them early, or catches a couple of breaks, maybe they could hang on to win. Kinda like how a&m beat Bama.

But I don't see it happening...I think gators win by 20 plus

Seeing as how UF has never finished a season undefeated, I respectfully disagree with your opinion of our fan base.

Tickets are much cheaper on StubHub, and they'll be cheaper outside the stadium as kickoff approaches.

Perfectly understandable. I'd be doing the same thing.
But, that's also part of what's wrong with the bowl system - UF is forced to pay for all of those tickets you guys are wisely not paying full price for.

Very true. But when you are playing a team where their coach took them to those levels is already in South Bend Indiana around Touchdown Jesus then those mighty Bearcats are already walking around with their tails around their legs and they will be easily defeatable. Our coach turned down a BIG time football school to stay at a predominantly basketball school AND headed to a bigtime conference. These redbirds cant be flying any higher cause we are on cloud nine now.

Getting back to basketball, I think UF should replace every seat at the O'Dome with something that isn't so uncomfortable to sit in. The seats there are terrible. What's particularly odd about the place is that the lower level has hard bleachers, while the middle level has chair backs. They're cheap, crappy chair backs, but it's still better than the bleacher seats behind the benches.

Considering UF was a Notre Dame loss to USC from playing for a national title, when many expected us to lose at least 4 games when the season started, UF is feeling pretty damn good about where they are too.

it's a multi purpose arena, so the seats that are not chairbacks move

The O'dome is a dump.

But I think I heard they are going to pour several million into a refurb project there in the next couple of years. Did that get approved Larry?

I know the reason for it.
But, it's still unusual. The school has two recent NCs, and the lower level is basically operated like a high school gym.

I spent two years at UF.
I didn't just walk in one day wearing Vol clothes and form a negative opinion of the place.
I went to nearly every home game in 2006-07 and 2007-08.

The gators definitely exceeded my expections in 2012.....by a lot!

The O'Dome is anything but a state of the art facility.

To the other poster's point, it was built to serve as a multi-purpose facility for basketball, volleyball, indoor track and field, and gymnastics.

I seriously doubt UF had the vision in the early 1980s that their men's basketball program would become nationally relevant for the better part of nearly two decades.

Florida Gym was an absolute snake pit for opposing teams back in the day.

Some of my greatest intramural hoops exploits took place there in the late 80s. :)

Pretty sure I played there.
So, I am a Vol fan, I have played inside both Alumni Gym (UK) and Florida Gym, and I've never been to the court at Stokely.

Plenty of laughs in here. Yes he took an NBA job only to back out 4 days later, i'm not really sure how that's a bad thing though.

One thing that is absolutely certain, he is going to end his career as a top 5 coach in the history of college basketball. Enjoy all the success you've been having though Vols (in all sports).

Top 5? He has some major work to do.
