Why do you have to sacrifice intensity? Did you see the Ohio St. spring game last year? Packed house that was absolutely electric. Players interacted with fans and family both before and after. Recruits loved it.
This is what makes news and brings you recruits: Ohio State football circle drill before 2012 Spring Game - YouTube
How do circle drills (that every team down to the high school level does) make news and bring in recruits. They're fun to do and watch your teammates do but as a fan it shows nothing about a game situation, although it does get the players blood pumping. They don't teach a QB where to throw in cover 3, the OL how to pick up a blitz, a WR how to catch the ball in traffic, the DL pass rushing techniques, the DBs footwork, etc. They're fun and by all means should do them but if that's what you think would make or break the O&w game, I can promise it won't. The O&W game is to showcase what they've worked on during the offseason....Athletes are very competitive people and I believe there is always some intensity no matter the situation, unless ur coach is Dooley and makes everything an obligation instead of a great experience
