Because of the difference in the number of years that Summit and Auriemma have coached, looking at their winning percentages would help even the playing field further.

Over her 38 years at Tennessee, Summitt's teams won 84.1 percent of their games.

To put that in perspective, Mike Krzyzewski, Duke's men's basketball coach, has "only" won 79.4 percent of his games.

Auriemma's UConn teams have come out on top 86.3 percent of the time. Over the last five years, the Huskies have won a ridiculous 94.3 percent of their games (182-11).

Geno has already surpassed Pat's accomplishments. Only Tennessee fans would consider Pat Summitt to be the superior coach.

They're both great coaches. Geno's greatness starts with his recruiting (just as Pat's did too - you have to have the best to be the best). The one thing I will say that is of incredible luck is Connecticut's distance from Bristol. There is no understating the impact being in ESPN's backyard has for UConn. If you look at the growth of their basketball programs, it more than slightly parallels the growth of ESPN's presence in cable media -- and that relationship is a benefit they'll always have. (It's not a premeditated benefit either, just the luck of the geographic draw). And, I think it's not lost on recruits that a career in sports broadcasting is a legitimate path to follow after college. Which, again, doesn't take away from the coaches; they're both great.

Pat's makes a better cheesesteak than Geno's. Neither are the best in Philly though. Debate over.

I love Pat Summitt but Geno is head and shoulders above Pat. He wins all his games by almost 50 points. Just look at the NC game against Notre Dame. But I wish she was number one

In an interview with ESPN last year, Auriemma compared the UT-UConn rivalry in women’s basketball, as well as his association with Summitt, to some of the great rivalries in all of sport.

Common sense would say that a homophobic coach wouldn't be successful in women's basketball, however Rene Portland was relatively successful and if she didn't fit that description, I don't know who would.

That said, I'd be surprised if Geno used that sales pitch to recruit.

Coke has made several commemorative bottle labels for the Lady Vols. Some as far back as 7-8 years ago. About time UCONN got one. Better late than never, I guess.
