No they are not. They start 6'10 249 van Kempen and 6'8 263 Keely. Washington, at 6'8 225 comes off the bench. Gtown has 6'11 247 Monroe, 6'9 245 Vaughn, and 6'7 205 Thompson off the bench.

Those are both teams bigs. Both thin in the post; they can bring in one more 6'8 guy each, but neither team likes to play their 4th low post guy.

Although this is true, we are terrible rebounders. It's gonna take everyone boxing out for us and going to get the ball to stay in the game and not get abused on the boards.

OUr 5'10 PG Cooper is a better rebounder than anyone else on OUr team.

My two favorite teams in NCAA are Tennessee #1, and Hoyas (grew up in DC area in 80s) #2.

Will enjoy the second round matchup.

That's an awefully bold statement, but just as UT has been inconsistent this season so has Georgetown. It ALL depends on WHO SHOWS UP. You can't count anyone out of it. Also you want to talk about ETSU? They were the same team that almost knocked Pitt out of the tourney either last year or year before. Should be exciting though..

While ETSU did play Pitt to the wire, in no way are they the same team as last year. They graduated their top scorers, and struggled all season long. Murry Bartow is a tournament coach though, so one can never really expect what will happen against UK. I love my Bucs, but this upset seems quite unlikely.

I wish this would happen, my bro goes to OU and comes back Friday. That would be smack talk central. Won't happen though, no chance.

Your point about Davidson is stupid. He said the were quick. They weren't remotely. That Davidson kid's problem us that he isn't quick enough to be anything but a shooter in the NBA.

Stephen Curry is pretty damn quick--he's on sportscenter tearing up defenses all the time.

Of course, he's also an incredible shooter

I think the Bucs play Kentucky closer than the Vols did last time out, but I guess that ain't sayin' too much.

Not sure you guys realize just how hot we are right now.

Our record is misleading of our talent since we're an EXTREMELY young team whose growth was slowed by injuries and suspensions.

The fact that we came from the #9 seed in the MAC tourney to win it (beating 8, 1, 4, and 3) is a sign that we aren't that same team that got blown out at Pitt early this year. We knew we had talent here, but this team turned the corner at the ideal time. :dance2:

The tourney is all about guard play, Cooper and Bassett are as good as they come. Washington comes off the bench at PF but is really a starter minute wise (foul trouble brings those #'s down, that's the reason we bring him off the bench actually)..
If Washington can stay in the game early, we are fully capable of beating G-Town.
Obviously Georgetown is a great team. They've been fairly inconsistent though. If they don't show up to play, they are doomed.
If they do show up, we will need some things to go OUr way to pull off the upset. Firstly, we need to get some 3's from Armon Bassett and Tommy Freeman. Bassett and Washington are fully capable of getting to the line and hopefully getting Monroe in foul trouble... That'd obviously be huge. We also need to force Georgetown into turnovers. They've had an issue there all year, and we've got some quick guards who like to pick pockets.

We WILL get blown out if we go back to younger inexperienced team we were early in the year... I just don't see that happening though.

Either way, I really don't understand why we've been given 0% chance against G-Town. Any research at all would show we've started to peak at the right time, and that G-Town has some consistency issues... Not saying it's a sure thing by any means, but I truly believe that we've got a much better chance at an upset then the experts are giving us... (Well, they are actually giving us no chance)

Good luck against SDSU, we'll be waiting in the 2nd round. :)

The NIT does that to you, no?

So we had a down year, it happens. You tell me what happens when you start 4 freshman after 90%+ of your offense leaves for the league. Remind me again when UT has produced anything close to that. Ill wait...

Tell you what BPV if your beloved Vols make it past GW ill never post in a BB thread again and you can have my sig for a year.

I don't care about a sig (as I never see them) and don't care if you post.

There is still no excuse to play so little d.

He's a quick release. Otherwise, he's a weak NBA player athletically.

You're lost in the conversation. If Duke's resume is mediocre this year, UT need not even apply.

Your point about Davidson is stupid. He said the were quick. They weren't remotely. That Davidson kid's problem us that he isn't quick enough to be anything but a shooter in the NBA.

UNC frontrunning douchebags have to hate some NIT if the excuse du jour has become "that's what you do after winning."

front runner? what the hell is that?

Has the Volnation resorted to hunting for remote possibilities that Georgetown will lose to bolster it's collective psyche that we will be playing next weekend?

That said, i might take a ride over this weekend if the game time is workable for me, should UT win Thursday.

Just busting your chops. Frontrunner is a fan who mysteriously roots for only winners only when they're winning.

Not me trust me, I hate people like that. The people at my school that wear a Yankee hat or a Gator hat or a bama shirt yet know nothing about the team. I stick by the Heels trough thick and thin.

Not a whole lot of thin to stick through.
