Georgia’s best

If the linemen hadn't gotten the yips, we were looking at a far different game. And as far as it goes with the passing game, maybe a few quick slants would have helped. It was obvious that the dogs were paying attention to the long ball throws. But HEY, it is what it is. I would LOVE to see a replay. I think that Georgia is beatable.

Hate to be this guy , but Ga could have won by 40.

Respectfully I don’t buy this at all. Any coach who takes their foot off the gas against our offense is either dumb or inexperienced. Kirby Smart is neither. They put up 55 on Vandy, half of those were in the 2nd half, were they taking their foot off the gas then? If they could’ve scored more on us yesterday you’d better believe they would’ve.

Getting tired of seeing this BS. They had two turnovers, 3 three-and-outs, and were forced to kick 2 FGs. Its pretty dumb to think that they weren’t trying to move the ball when they called run plays on 3rd & short. A called run does not equate to not trying

We got their best and it was a 13 point game. Let’s do it again on a neutral sight. I was at the game. we played poorly. Dogs played well and had home field. They are beatable.

Final was 27-13, so that's 14 points.

Dawgs only threw the ball 4 times in the 2nd half. They went ball control and clock management. Game was over at the half.

A team that averages 50 points scored one total TD in garbage time.

Vols are one of the best teams in the country but they are not beating Georgia with a mediocre secondary.

Rain … and Kirby wasn’t taking any chances . He knows Tn offense could get hot at any point .

Just hoping we get the opportunity this year that GA got last year. Second time is not like the first.

As I’ve said many times on here, they literally went deep with 4 minutes left.

The game was definitely not over at halftime. We received the second half kickoff and we punch it in its 24-13, maybe 24-14.

Kirby did not left off the gas, his strategy was control the clock, run the ball. He was smart enough to limit UT’s possessions and did not want the game to turn into a shootout.

Yeah, but math dumb. Also, I wouldn’t quite call it garbage time when there was still a solid chance, given our prior offensive production, we could come back. Sanford got real nervous near the end. Will say UGA’s defense is best we’ll see all year by far. Best the bulldog fans have ever been was this year. Hope to see y’all again in the playoffs.

Not sure if anyone else thought this at the time, but I was kind of surprised when Josh took the three points after the first turnover. Not saying he made the wrong call in taking the points, but it was a bit inconsistent given his approach to those situations all season, and might have sent a message to the team that this was a different kind of opponent and they have to take points where they can get them.

Not exactly a huge show of confidence in an offense that had been a machine up to that point. I might have preferred that he set the tone early that 'this is how we play' by going for it in that spot. The Vols played tight all day, and seeing Josh going balls to the wall might have loosened the team up. Or not.

Thoughts?

Totally agree. With our offense they wouldn’t take their foot off the gas. Perhaps the rain affected their play calling but give some credit to our defense.

They could have beaten us by 30 if they wanted. The rain saved us from that. I do believe a neutral site it would be a better game, but GA is a very bad matchup for us. They may be the only team in the country with elite Corners and Secondary that can cover our receiver's. Obviously corners will get neat occasionally but Hooker was off yesterday on his deep passes. But let's not get it twisted, it could have been way worse if they had wanted too. Mother Nature helped keep it respectful..
