Georgia Fans Want Gruden

looking at UGA record over richt's tenure, i'd say UGA being ranked number 1 was the worst thing for them. Being overrated only raised the fanbase's expectations and now they're suffering the hangover. remember to drink lots of water, athens!

Richt himself is not going anywhere this offseason. But he's almost certainly going to have to throw Willie Martinez overboard, Randy Sanders-style. He has about used up his capital.

He had better not lose to Tech this year, that's for sure. I still don't think it would cost him his job this year, but it would IMO put into play the very real possibility that 2010 might be his last in Athens.

They'll fire the assistants before they fire Richt. He's a good coach, they'd be insane to fire him after one bad season.

A little too early to start firing a coach that has a percentage of wins like he has. It's got to be tough being a GA fan. They have had the talent but just have not produced in the big games.

Yeah I think Richt has earned one losing season before he gets canned. But if the ship isn't righted the following year he gets the boot.

He doesn't have the national championship that made Fulmer untouchable, so I don't know that it would take an actual losing season to do it, especially if he starts losing to Tech regularly. That's the unforgivable offense for an UGA coach. If he goes 8-4 with a loss to Tech this year, and then follows it up with another 7-8 win season and a THIRD consecutive loss to Tech in 2010, he might very well be done, regardless of how hard he throws his assistants overboard.

Has Richt ever had a losing season? I think it will take at least one before Dooley would consider replacing him.

Richt has gone a year without beating a SECE team on his resume and survived. I don't think he's in trouble yet either.

Actually the "WORD" I hear down here in the ATL is that CMR is basically untouchable for the near future. Basically he brought the program up to NC contenders and he gets 2-5 to keep it going. They are looking for some kind of Contract work to pay him more or keep him longer to send a message of support.
Sound familiar ?????????
GA is terrible and I love it.

Even if Richt does get fired he will be snatched up by another upper tier team alot faster than Fulmer will.

lol Gruden to ND with his mouth? lol i think he cusses to much for the Irish. i don't see gruden in college i dont' think he can relate to college kids, i think he would lose them. he has a tendency to break down pro athletes and lose them. college kids would get sick of the non-stop screaming i think

Are you kidding? Weiss has probably the most foul mouth in all of football.

The Pup fans will calm down in a day or two, but Richt is going to have to do something about Martinez and Bobo or Evans will do it for him.

Mark Richt (SEC) (2001–present)

2001 Georgia 8-4
2002 Georgia 13-1
2003 Georgia 11-3
2004 Georgia 10-2
2005 Georgia 10-3
2006 Georgia 9-4
2007 Georgia 11-2
2008 Georgia 10-3

Mark Richt: 82-22
Total: 82-22

He's not going to be replaced anytime soon, with those numbers. Hasn't had a losing season yet.

My God... he's only had 2 seasons with single digit wins.. and one being his first. Fans are so spoiled.

Dooley was actually forced out a couple of years ago. The AD there now - Damon Evans - is a former player, but is more in the Mike Hamilton mold. Evans isn't going to have a knee jerk reaction.
