Georgia Fans Want Gruden

No way the fire Richt this year, even if they don't win anymore games. Coordinators will be gone if they finish .500 or below.
+1. This is a transition year of sorts for them, after losing Stafford and Moreno. Until one of their QB's steps up and fills the void, they will have ups and downs.

Richt has been too successful there for him to get ousted.
It was hard enough to dislodge Fulmer after 2 losing season in 4yrs...no way UGA makes such a foolish move. I still think Auburn screwed up by knee-jerk reacting and firing Tuberville, after having a NC a few years ago. He just picked a poor OC or was wrong for trying to mesh together a Pro-Style and Spread Option offense.
Maybe Richt should takeover OC duties, like CLK and as Charlie Cheeseburger did with ND.

Mark Richt (SEC) (2001–present)

2001 Georgia 8-4
2002 Georgia 13-1
2003 Georgia 11-3
2004 Georgia 10-2
2005 Georgia 10-3
2006 Georgia 9-4
2007 Georgia 11-2
2008 Georgia 10-3

Mark Richt: 82-22
Total: 82-22

He's not going to be replaced anytime soon, with those numbers. Hasn't had a losing season yet.

Yeah. Those are brutal numbers and consistent, top SEC caliber seasons. He only lacks a title of any kind to go with it. They would be so lame to even consider running him off. Better run than Dooley himself. Seriously, how many titles have they ever won anyway, SEC or NC. For UGA, Richt offers the best they can get.

lol Gruden to ND with his mouth? lol i think he cusses to much for the Irish. i don't see gruden in college i dont' think he can relate to college kids, i think he would lose them. he has a tendency to break down pro athletes and lose them. college kids would get sick of the non-stop screaming i think

Charlie Weis' mouth would make Gruden look like a Choir Boy.

With the money SEC schools are now pulling down, almost any of them can hire top notch coaching. Richt needs quality coordinators and some less absurd expectations. Cox is starting his 6th game next week.

Richt will not be let go. If he is it will be a big mistake for GA in my opinion. He has put togather some great recruiting classes and won some big games...but his DC and good freind will probally step down...:hi:

Mark Richt will do well enough this season to buy himself another year. Besides my Carolina Panthers may be taking him off the market when J. Fox gets canned this season.

Did you watch that 60 minutes a few years back on Weiss? He has some sailor in him too!

He doesn't have the national championship that made Fulmer untouchable, so I don't know that it would take an actual losing season to do it, especially if he starts losing to Tech regularly. That's the unforgivable offense for an UGA coach. If he goes 8-4 with a loss to Tech this year, and then follows it up with another 7-8 win season and a THIRD consecutive loss to Tech in 2010, he might very well be done, regardless of how hard he throws his assistants overboard.

If UGA doesn't fix that D, GT may run for 500 yds. And next year UGA will be startig another new QB. The Atlanta sports commitee is trying to move this game to the first game of the year, may be he only chance UGA has to stop that GT offense, work on it all spring.

The coaching expectations are nuts.

If you can win 9 games a year almost every year and then get a change at a NC every 10 years, you should feel great.

What is wrong here? Fans at another institution are wanting to replace their current coach and Fulmer's name has not been mentioned? I venture to say they don't know that Phil has had five new front doors installed at his home because they have been beaten down so much from institutions trying to get him to coach their school.

Agreed about unrealistic expectations, but if I were an UGA fan, I'd be about done with Richt too. It was one thing when it was him vs Fulmer and Zook in the east, but these days he's clearly way behind Meyer, and now Lane F. Kiffin just whipped him with a ridiculously undertalented team. If you're an UGA fan, you're staring down the barrel of falling back down into Jim Donnan territory in the SEC East, and you're facing the prospect of actually losing regularly to a resurgent Tech team, which is intolerable. I can see why some of them have started to wonder about whether they're getting their money's worth out of their coach.

Good luck getting Gruden away from Tampa Bay.

Does Gruden own some land in central Georgia?

Pretty sure when Paul Johnson was hired I said he would give Richt a run for his money for top dog in GA. Why people didn't believe me was beyond me, that was pretty much a no brainer. "Triple option will never work in the ACC." Ya ok

If he doesn't get the bucs in the playoffs this year, the Glazers might just let him go...:whistling:

Not a chance. He brought a Lombardi trophy to the Bay.

Gruden writes his own ticket with the Glazers. And I can't imagine why he'd give any consideration to leaving the Bucs for UGA.
