Given this is an SEC board, I'd love you're insights into Georgia and what to expect from them this year. Thanks in advance.

They'll still be really good even though they have a lot of people to replace on defense. I think they'll be able to handle Oregon rather easily.

The longer-term question for them is if winning a title was kind of a one-off thing and they go back to being a 9 or 10-win team, or will they be able to do something more like what Alabama and Clemson have done, namely winning 11/12 games a year and being a threat to win the title every year? They certainly recruit well enough to do that, and their run last year does not have the "lightning in a bottle" feel that LSU's did.

Bama lost two key players and Ga didn’t put the game away until late. Nothing like LSU did as someone mentioned. Georgia play calling is still a little, suspect. They are loaded with talent though. Go Ducks on that one.

Like some others have said, they lost a lot w/ 15 guys being drafted, but they are still loaded. The good news for you guys is that no matter how loaded they might be, the chances of them being where they were last year is slim, especially in week 1. I think if I were you I would be optimistic that a lot of things are about as good as it could be for you to upset them. Your new coach knows everything about them, Nix won’t be intimidated, all of that talent is still a work in progress, and everyone has been telling UGA how great they are since January. If you can make them one dimensional and force Bennett to win the game that’s your chance.

I think we will be pretty good up front on defense, big concern is experience in the secondary. It will be interesting to see what the Duck d looks like under Lanning

Kirby had to sell a lot of those guys to come back for one more season.

Do I expect a big drop off no but it would not surprise me I’d they went back to 10 wins.

When you say that play calling is a little suspect, what do you mean?

Georgia will be back in the playoffs and Oregon will be 3 loss team at the end of the year.

Georgia tends to "Georgia" every once in a while.

Fake punts in their own territory on 4th and 10
Short passes in long situations that come up short
Bonehead calls on both sides of the ball

If Oregon can jump on Georgia early, Georgia will fold.

. They did that mainly under Richt not so much under Kirby. Georgia win by 17 or more over Oregon

Who do you see Oregon losing to? Ok, Georgia certainly is the toughest game, but after that Oregon has the tough opponents at home. Obviously, Utah will be very tough.

In my opinion, being up early won't be enough it will take a full 60 minutes and maybe more to win in front of that big Georgia crowd.

Everybody in the stadium saw this coming. Kirby did it anyway. His last name is Smart. Go figure.

I usually pull, against Bama. Plays like this are a gift.

Another challenge for Oregon is that they basically have one of Kirby's assistants as a first-year coach. Georgia will be very familiar with Oregon's playstyle.

Agree, of course that's a two way street.

True but it tends to favor the stable program over first-year coach (look at Saban vs. his assistants. Only recently have some of his assistants started beating him).

Not sure what situation looks in long-term though. Oregon is recruiting well and could really run the Pac12 once USC is gone.

Just a little note for BIG 10 fans, USC and UCLA have never won a PAC12 football championship. You have to go back to the PAC-10 days to find them at the top. Also, USC is 6-9 vs the Ducks since 2000 to present
