Still true?
Oregon recruited very well under Cristobal. The key to the game is Oregon’s ability to run the football. UGA likes to take away what you do best. UGA loves to make you one dimensional, preference being taking away the run. Lanning knows this more than anyone.
Oregon will need to be physical up front to establish the run game to help control the game. If you can establish the run, create a couple turnovers, Oregon will be in the game.
Do NOT rely on Bo Nix. He has not played well against UGA. He relies on his speed outside the pocket. UGA DL is faster than Bo Nix. For his career (3 full games) he’s 56%, 213 ypg, 1 TD and 2 Int.
KEY stat, he’s tried to run, 34 rushes for 34 yards. Me personally? I’d start the other guy, UGA struggles with backup QBs.
Nix loves moving outside the pocket, it’s who/what he is. He spends more time outside the pocket than in it regardless if warranted. He is very quick to bail. He will make incredible plays (like the opener against Oregon) but then has omg plays where he will kill your drives/momentum. I’m sure your OC is working with him to stay in the pocket, we will see if it worked. Thanks, here's hoping who ever the Ducks put on the field that they have a solid error free game. I think we'll need to be near perfect in this game. Also, the Ducks have a pretty good OL. I'm not sure a QB that gets out and tries to run is going to help the Ducks much. Maybe just enough to keep the defense honest, but not as a steady diet.
In my uneducated opinion, you need tight ends that are really good blockers to make a option type running game work well. Oregon has struggles getting great tight ends that can stay healthy in recent years. Lost Webb in a accident at a local swimming hole this summer, good guy. One of the TE's is a guy named Herbert, yea his brother is QB for the Chargers. He's been in the program for quite a while, perhaps this will be his year.
One other quick note on the other side of the ball. Expect UGA in 12 personnel most of the night but they will use 13 personnel and will have ability to go 14 personnel. Even in base 12, you will have a 6’7” 270 lb TE that is a 6th OL at all times. Thanks, here's hoping who ever the Ducks put on the field that they have a solid error free game. I don't recall Georgia having the most explosive offense in college football at all last year.UGA had the most explosive offense in the SEC and it should be more explosive and more consistent this year barring injuries.
The D Line depth will go further than the overall talent.
The Secondary returns 4 guys that started at least 3 games.
The linebackers are inexperienced but just as athletic.
The running back room is basically the same if not a little better
The Wide Receivers are both underrated and underused but you better be ready to run.
Good Luck with any Oregon LB in coverage on the Tight Ends
The offensive line will be better.
Stetson Bennet is Stetson Bennett.
UGA wins 34-17
Undefeated regular season and a trip to the playoffs.
Bennett has kicked our rear end two years in a row. I was hoping they'd play Daniels last year. He was a statue.I'll be surprised if GA goes undefeated again in reg season. I think they'll lose a couple games even though Aub and Fla will both be down this season. Despite the NC game, Bennett doesnt scare me that much......
That still doesn't describe "most explosive offense in college football". Heck, I watched a lot of football last year, and Georgia wasn't that explosive. Sure, they were good, but not near the most explosive5 in the NCAA in yards per play (first in the SEC)
I THINK we ranked like 4th in yards per possession. We scored a lot of points last year.
They were not. Liberty had a strong claim to that title. Also depends on how you define explosive. In 30+ yard plays, UGA was 8th and 1st in the SEC. I think the Vols were 2nd in the SEC, but not 100% on that. UGA was surprisingly good. That still doesn't describe "most explosive offense in college football". The defense allowed for a lot of that . If the UGA defense gets a 3 and out and gives the offense the ball between the 35s the playbook is wide open. You can take your shots or if you got behind by 2 scores against UGA it was like being behind by 4. You think Georgia is going to keep pounding you and then they go play action and hit you over the top. Georgia played great complimentary football, stats may say one thing, but no one is going to pretend like UGA’s offense was better than Bama’s or more difficult to prepare for than ours or Ole Miss’ last season. They were not. UGA will be a load again this year. They'll be right there with bama when the dust settles. Don't think Oregon can take the dawgs, but my fingers are crossed. Should be a helluva game. College football needs more of these types of games. Tired of the Ball St. and Akrons.Georgia lost 16 players from last year's club. Many of those were starters and impact type players. If nothing else the chemistry IMO will not be there early and UGA is ripe to lose a few games this year. Their Pied Piper QB likes to make the game about him, he'll screw it up as often as not. They're going to be a solid ball club, but they'll be far off from what they were. The Ducks are going to have to figure out whether they can stay on the field with a good SEC team.
I'd much rather have 28-10 Ducks. Would make the cheerleaders happy and we certainly want that.I think UGA still very talented and they have the depth to replace alot of what they lost. Will they be as good as last year? Probably not. Will they be good enough to beat an Oregon team that’s breaking in a new coaching staff? Probably. 28-10 Dawgs.

You name your boat yet? I have another suggestion: “Nauti Hooker”.
Oh…UGA wins. No idea by how much, but this is UGA’s game to lose, and they won’t.
Go Vols.
Will be wearing some Oregon gear on Sept. 3rd. That said, I don’t like the Ducks chances against UGA. Oregon will have to play mistake-free ball and hope they can keep the Dawgs in a close game similar to Clemson last season.
I think games like this are vital to the viability of the PAC-12 members wanting to jump conferences. Oregon, Washington, Utah, and others who want to find a spot in the P2 will have to really perform this year while realignment is still such a hot issue.
Utah vs Florida in week 1 is another such matchup.
Break a leg Stetson.UGA had the most explosive offense in the SEC and it should be more explosive and more consistent this year barring injuries.
