They have the best tight end group in the nation. They had an All SEC guy go down, one transfer in who didnt play, and they still got better last year. They have the best TE in the nation a true sophomore named Brock Bowder or something like that. Kid is big but will run away from a lot of DBs. Huge body and catch radius. He could be the leading receiver on the team easily, and not be used enough imo. Not sure how he is in blocking though.
Georgia and Kirby will want to run on you and be physical. I think they have the talent but they lost a lot of experience. They have athletes all over.
On defense they seem to focus on the run first and will leave their DBs on an island. Physical, will run to the ball, lots of energy and usually well coached. Obviously a new DC this year but I would expect the drip off to come from the players not the coach. Usually 3 down line men with a monster in the middle. Big LBs with speed, and dbs are fast behind them.
HeHe's
As others have said they lost a ton and have been told how good they are. We will see how they react. If they play focused they will be very tough to beat.
Last year UGA was like Michael Jordan, you could know exactly what they were going to do and you couldnt stop them. I think they will be much more down to earth this year but they are still easily the second best team in the SEC and might be third best in the nation.
Coaching is predictable but solid. If you have their talent level you can stop them, see Bama. And as others have pointed out every year but last year they always have a big bonehead play that loses them a game, or a flop of a game, the South Carolina a few years back comes to mind.
I dont know either roster but I dont know how many match ups Oregon will be favored in. Maybe UGA WR vs Oregon DBs if you are good there. If your defensive line can just keep their Oline off your linebackers you may have an advantage in the run game with that being the focus of their offense. But their oline is consistently good. Hopefully good Bo Nix shows up, you may have a shot; bad Bo Nix shows up and it wont matter how good your team, or theirs.
From your post to God's ears. Nothing better than a UGA loss....except maybe a UT win.I hope that Oregon speed hits another gear and they jump on UGA early...It will be pretty much a home game for the butt sniffers but I sure would love to see the Ducks pull off a big upset...Nice way to start the season and see UGA's title hopes hang by a thread so early in the season.
Your corners are going to have to be very disciplined. UGA’s game is pound it on the ground and then set you up with play action for the big hitter. Thanks, that's very helpful. First, Bo Nix hasn't won the starting job yet, Ty Thompson is definitely in the hunt for the QB spot. He's probably a better passer and better pro prospect. Nix certainly has the experience and seems to be a great leader.
As for the Ducks d-line Georgia will probably want to keep their better players protected from LBs Sewell and Flowe. They will send you to the locker room with a clean hit.
Oregon is very green at the corners with good talent/experience at safety. Historically, Oregon tends to have very good DEs, Thibodeaux, Ngata, Arnstead, and Buckner come to mind, this year it's Dorlus and he looks pretty good.

The UGA TE group is incredible. Bowers is unbelievable, then you have a 2 guys behind him who are 5 ️. I wouldn’t be surprised to see all 3 on the field at the same time. They’re going to be a matchup nightmare for everyone they play. From what I've seen on here, one big concern and possibly the most interesting is how those great TE match up with Oregon's LBs and whether they can control them. Sewell just seems to always be where the ball in and Flowe just seems to make people wish they'd gone somewhere else on the field. And I do agree the Ducks will be greatly challenged at the corners. We're very green but talented on the corners.
I would hope for Thompson. Bo Nix has always had too much hype. Even with all of his experience he is inconsistent as all get out. Thanks, that's very helpful. As mentioned, their TE room has a bunch of freaks in it.Given this is an SEC board, I'd love you're insights into Georgia and what to expect from them this year. Thanks in advance.

But this may tell you a lot of what you want to know: 2/3 of NFL teams had scouts at their first practice in pads.
As mentioned, they lost a lot, but the best DL, #88 is still there. The linebackers are all fast and physical, just not as experienced as the three that got drafted. The CBs are talented athletes, but just have not seemed to play up to their billing. The kid with the interception against Bama to seal the game does get beat from time to time. The other DBs are solid and tough.
On offense, outside of the TEs, the receivers are solid. The McConkey kid is surprisingly fast; IIRC he was a miss for UT in recruiting. The OL is big, athletic and deep, they didn't lose but a couple off of it from last year. The running backs are talented and should find spots on NFL rosters.
And lastly, the QB. The walk-on is a damn baller. He's smart and has decent wheels. Doubt he gets more than a cup of coffee in the NFL if that. After his fumble against Bama, when a lot of QBs may have folded, he came back 4/4 with two TDs. His backups are talented, but have not been able to beat him out. UGA led the NCAA with plays over 30 yards and a mainly because the kid is deadly with play action.
If they can figure out how to get all the TE talent in the game, they are going to be tough. Your linebackers are very good, but have they covered 6-6 and 6-7 270lb athletes?
*** EDIT *** They ranked 8th in 30+yard plays in the NCAA. They were 1st in the SEC.
Huh? A few is at least 3. I guess it’s possible if you count the SEC Championship and bowl game. There’s zero chance they are 9-3 or worse in the regular season unless they’re decimated by injuries.Georgia lost 16 players from last year's club. Many of those were starters and impact type players. If nothing else the chemistry IMO will not be there early and UGA is ripe to lose a few games this year. Their Pied Piper QB likes to make the game about him, he'll screw it up as often as not. They're going to be a solid ball club, but they'll be far off from what they were. The Ducks are going to have to figure out whether they can stay on the field with a good SEC team.
Still true?Given this is an SEC board, I'd love you're insights into Georgia and what to expect from them this year. Thanks in advance.
