Georgia will dominate college football for the next 3 years

This is actually impossible

I believe Oklahoma scored on 3 of their first 4 possessions. Most were long drives. And they didn't even face a 3rd down if I remember correctly. I'm guessing about 250+ of those 500 yards came on those first 4 drives.

Georgia shut down the Oklahoma offense in the 2nd half. The Sooners had only one long drive that entire second half.

Georgia made a dramatic adjustment from the first half to the second half. I attribute that to coaching

I don't think it was an adjustment as much as finally just acknowledging the obvious. Even in the first half, UGA ran it pretty well. Jim Chaney did what Jim Chaney does sometimes and got pass happy. Then, somewhere it dawned on him that they were averaging about 10 ypc and he started feeding those RBs.

Its amazing though how people are talking like Georgia should have won better but didn't so somehow it should be a disappointment. A lot of people picked OU and a lot of people, especially half way through the first half (and it was said on here MULTIPLE times) thought OU was going to, I believe the quote was, "boat race" UGA. So now, because UGA gave up 500 yards of offense and went to 2 OTs, it wasn't a great win??? It was a HUGE win and there is nothing debatable about that.
You're completely misreading the room... which is understandable if you don't know the background. Nobody is taking anything away from what was a great win.

Hey buddy. Don't listen to him. We enjoy having you post here. I always welcome different views.

Now lets talk about your boy Roquan Smith. He looked rather small last night and was getting engulfed easily by blockers. He's physically not in the same stratosphere as Daniel Bituli. Look for NFL lineman to engulf Roquan like the Oklahoma lineman did for most of the game yesterday.
Please share this “scouting tape” you have of bituli’s physicality that shows he’s so much better then Roquan who has actually already had a great career that will get him drafted in the top 20 or wait don’t tell me this is all based on a kids body again lol

D4H has secret tape that not even NFL scouts have access to.

I saw Smith shoot 2 gaps last night and deliver tackles that stopped 2 ballcarriers dead in their tracks, including one on a 3rd down play in OT that was crucial to Georgia's victory. Was credited with 11 tackles total.

I was shocked by how small Roquan was last night. He's not much bigger than Nick Chubb who is a RB. I'll wait to see how he performs against Alabama but as of right now I don't see Roquan Smith being great at the next level.

First off nick Chubb is huge probably like 230

Any LB 6’2” 220 in college isnt getting any knocks from nfl scouts for size

Also there are guys like Lavonte David and Telvin Smith who top 100 players in the nfl and absolute beasts

Smith is slightly undersized and will probably have to play outside in the NFL, but Nick Chubb isn't exactly a small guy. He's probably 225-230.

Smith dominated the second half of that game.

Smith is the new prototypical NFL LB. Slightly smaller, faster, can cover and run like a deer.

Gone are the days of drafting big, run stopping LBs.

I’ll tell you who’s a little overrated for Georgia Trent Thompson people talked like him coming back is the same as if Roquan did but nah Roquan had the big junior year he wanted Thompson did not that’s why he’s coming back

You must be new here .. post in the "Around the NCAA" forums quite often .. because it's AROUND THE NCAA. Sure, it's heavy UT fans but many are really good peeps to talk to along with some from other schools. Is that ok with you? Yes, we're excited about the win but just because UGA won the game doesn't mean I am going to stop posting in a community I visit regularly.
Didn't tell you to stop posting but I am puzzled about your concern about what some of our Vol fans are expressing as their opinions about your team. WTF do you care, you won the East, you won the SEC and you are in the National Championship Game. Just point at the scoreboard and smile. You aren't ever going to convince the haters to change anyway.

OBTW, check my stats regarding your "you must new here" comment, as if that matters one iota anyway.

Rodney Anderson impressed me as well. He looks like a stud NFL RB. Better prospect than Chubb and Michel.

Yes but it was more than that. They made defensive adjustments, got hits on Mayfield and gave him no time to pick them apart like he did in the first half. He got beat on, and they stuffed a lot of the runs too.

PF Focus graded Roquan out pretty well .. his football IQ is extremely high and his speed and tackling ability are off the charts. He may not be the same size as Bituli but it is not debatable that he makes up for that in speed and overall talent. He is simply a better linebacker and will be in the NFL as well. He made enormous plays after the early onslaught by OU.

I really do come on here in this community (Around the NCAA) because of all the different SEC viewpoints. Guys like you, Big Boi, our UK Wildcat buddy and Bamawriter (among other Bama guys on here) make this a pretty entertaining community of threads.

I agree that Thompson coming back isn't as important as if Roquan does/did. But he is a damn solid DL and adds a ton of depth at that position along with Clark, Marshall and (hopefully) Ledbetter. He hasn't been quite the 5-star player we thought but he has battled through nagging injuries to still be a very productive guy in the middle and when he is healthy (see last year's bowl game versus TCU) he is just a monster.

I'm not going to argue with you, but Chubb and Michel are both great prospects. i like Michel better than Chubb. If Anderson was at Georgia he might be ahead of Holyfield but not Swift coming off the bench IMO.

As a pure "running back" I think Chubb might still be the better option but Michel's obvious efficacy out of the backfield is becoming more in vogue with NFL offenses.

Honestly you could probably flip a coin. I think Chubb would be perfect for a team like the Seahawks, who want to pound the football but can't since Lynch left. Michel would be great in a Kansas City or New England type offense that really gets their backs involved in the passing game.

:good!:

I, like another mentioned, think Sony is the better NFL prospect but Chubb as just a pure, every down back is a great NFL prospect as well. Those two came in highly rated, been through hell and back, and still selling out for the school.

Could also see Michel doing well with the Falcons (not a Falcons fan AT ALL) or even Green Bay. Chubb would do well at Seattle or even Denver

Where are these Georgia backs rated by the draft dudes right now? I think both will help themselves at the combine and pro day. I think Michel will have the better measurables. All right you Georgia boy's predict their 40 times, we will compare them to D4H's predictions:popcorn:. BTW my nephew has started dating a Georgia girl who lives just outside of Athens. We've already about turned her to the darkside or orangeside. As soon as we get her to Neyland she's turned (insert evil cackle). I think they'll get married. She went to the Rose Bowl, I was trying to talk her into wearing something Tennessee to it when I saw her at Christmas. I bet she chickened out.
