Kirby Smart made a lot of mistakes last night. That was just one of them.

The most critical mistake was they stopped being aggressive and tried to run out the clock. They started the game with 7 straight passes. That was playing to win. By the end he was playing not to lose.

Fromm lost his nerve at the end of the game. With Eason leaving there is a new kind of pressure with the job being clearly Fromm's to lose*, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he has a major slump with Justin Fields breathing down his neck.

*Obviously, it was already his job to lose, but a freshman struggling a little and being replaced by an older, more established blue chip QB isn't exactly an embarrassing thing to fear and make you play tight. A sophomore who loses his job to a true freshman is an embarrassment.

Karma, History, Tradition. GA choked in 2 games they shoulda coulda won. Had nothing to do with Richt. He recruited studs. Kirby hasn't done anything Richt wasn't already doing, including finding a W after that one elusive meaningful game.

Guys, I’m 6 and a half feet tall. Actually I’m only 5’6”, but I weigh a solid 250. Actually I’m only 5’6”, and weigh an actual solid 152, but I’m strong as crap for a little guy, and I’ve got that Kentucky hillbilly blood, so I’m pretty dang mean. So, since I’m a small guy, but make up for it by strength and meanness, that means my original statement of being tall actually correct, right? Am I doing this right?😁

Under D4H logic, you're 6'6" and 250 lbs because you want it to be true. Your desire that it be true is sufficient to declare it so.

Well Chubb and Gurley were pretty awesome as freshmen so not crazy to think Cook or White will be too

Or at last I can see why Georgia fans expect they will

I believe Swift will be one of best backs in the SEC next yr just need one of the other guy to step up

The offense went nowhere early and on the last drive, they threw it in 1st and 3rd down.

I’m not sure throwing the ball a lot more was the answer to their problems either

Georgia will win the national title in 2017 and 2019. I've been saying for a couple of months now that this is Georgia's year. Next season will be a slight rebuild for them because they are losing so many seniors after this year. However, with how they're recruiting, they will be overwhelming favorites to win it all in 2019 and 2020. They will be young, experienced, and talented those 2 seasons. I think they win it all one of those seasons (most likely in 2019).

You'd be onto something if it had been about Bama. They are the heavy favorite to win the next 2 titles with Tua. He's the most dynamic QB Saban has ever coached. He will be surrounded by the best talent in the country which is game over for everyone else

Fields has to be really good for Georgia to compete

Either team could have won that game. Both had their chances. Both had their big plays, and both had their mistakes. In the end, Alabama made one more play than Georgia did. That simple. Tip your hat to the winner, and move on.

The ESPN (and others) micro-analysis of who-did-what-which-player-came-up-big-officials-missed-calls-Saban-genius-Kirby-still-learning garbage is just that...garbage. Parrish always bites on the first move, and the Bama OC, QB, and WR took advantage of it. Credit Bama for solid game prep on that one. They needed a big play, and they knew where their best chance was.

There are only about 100 FBS teams that would love to have UGA's "issues" right now...Tennessee among them. It was a great game. Can we not just accept, and enjoy that fact?

Reading comprehension is tough sometimes so let me help you. I DIDN'T SAY IT, but MANY HAVE SAID THAT SWIFT WAS THE BEST BACK THEY HAD LAST YEAR. I didn't say they would be a better backfield. A lot of what gets attributed to Chubb and Michel is based on their results over their career. But the RB position is the easiest for freshman to come in and make a splash based on their talent so the RB group will be just as deep and just as talented. Any comment to the contrary is a lack of understanding of what's coming in to play.

Guess I missed the Rose Bowl leading to the national championship game. Look, I really liked Richt, still do. But it's pretty disingenuous to think that Smart hasn't already accomplished more than Mark Richt did. Richt, for all his great recruiting was NEVER recruiting at this level. And to think otherwise means you have blocked sites like 247 from your browser. Number 3 class last year, number 1 this year, already out front with number 1 for 2019 ..

Yes, they should have beaten Bama but Kirby is only his second year as a HC anywhere so still learning, still getting better. Remember, Saban "choked" away the SECCG in his second year at Bama playing against UF.
