Georgia

Georgia's "recent 30 year history" includes some down times but is still good enough to rank the Bulldogs 3rd in overall wins, behind tOSU and Oklahoma. By comparison, the Vols sit at 24th, which is well behind even Nebraska at 12th.

Since Vince Dooley took over in 1964 they have only had 5 or 6 losing seasons, depending on how we count ties.

Dooley has one or two (5-6, 5-5-1), Goff had two (4-7, 5-6), Donnan had one (5-6). Richt (6-7) and Smart never bas had a losing season. The 2010 Richt 6-7 was their last losing season counting bowls. If we only talk about regular seasons, Donnan’s 5-6 1996 season was the last time they had more losses than wins.

If you only have 5-6 losing seasons in 58 years you are going to win a lot a lot of games.

We have a problem. A dynasty is starting in Athens it’s just a formality at this point that Georgia is going 15-0 and repeating nobody except maybe Bama really has any chance to beat them. This coming in a year when people thought they might slide back a little bit with all the guys they lost to the NFL so now they just reload they are looking alot like Saban’s early teams at Bama physical and imposing. Since Kirby has got there he has lost to SEC East teams just five times and three of those losses were in his first season that’s amazing to me how quickly he took control of the East and only missing the SEC title game twice since 2016. My question is who in the East will take him down ? What’s going to bring Kirby and Georgia down and stop a potential dynasty? Nobody can touch them in recruiting so how do we beat them on the field? I’m sick of them but it certainly don’t look like they are going anywhere with the way they are recruiting and stockpiling talent. We all want to win the East and get to the SEC title game but is that even realistic as long as Kirby is in Athens?

GBO!!!

They won’t win a national title this year. They’ve played with fire too many times this year not to get burnt. They start slow in the playoff like they have so many times and they will get turned out.
I think they will repeat...

I'd say we took a pretty big step in that direction this year and we finally have a coach with a scheme and a plan that will only get better as the talent level increases here. Relax and enjoy the ride.

Is he wrong?
Am I? You guys are here because you are upset about nobody outside of Athens caring. Can't stand Tennessee getting more attention all year, so you find a Tennessee board, and spend all your time trying to tell everyone how good you are 🤣. It's pretty sad, if you were the greatest thing in the world like you guys think, you wouldn't have to join a Tennessee board and try to convince us 🤣. It'd be much different if you guys came in, talked football in general, even made a playful jab, but your constant chest pounding is annoying. The puppies will be back to being choke artists very soon, and I'd guarantee that only the couple of Georgia fans that were here before will still be around. You new guys will go back to wiping each other's butts in the stall, and talking about next year 🤣

I think he is.
Maybe someone could provide a link.

He’s not wrong about them having a bunch of wins. I didn’t actually count but it looks impressive. They have a lot of seasons with high win totals. Joe is also not wrong about what they have done not constituting a dynasty. They have 2 titles since 1980. Other teams have done much better.

I've been a lurker for a long while. I haven't started any threads about how great Georgia is or has been. My comments on Georgia are largely in response to someone else's negative remarks about UGA, of which there are so many that it would almost seem as though people have an obsession. 🤣

Maybe so, but Tennessee still lives rent free in your head, otherwise what on earth would you be doing on the UT forum desperately seeking affirmation.

Affirmation? How about amusement? What of I'm just seeking a little amusement?

When we do come here and talk football, with an occasional playful jab, you still react just like this. I don't know what you mean in regards to the "butt-wiping in the stall." It's both weird and disturbing.

To challenge them UGA, you're gonna have to recruit like them and coach like them. There are only two teams in hte east that have that potential, and that's UT and Fla. And both of them are in a rebuilding mode. However, we're going to a 16 team free for all conference in a couple of years, and that means Bama, LSU, TX, and OK are all programs that could challenge them. Maybe TxA&M.

Don’t ever forget that Kirby got away with buying players and Pruitt didn’t. Kirby outbid on 4 or 5 guys that was coming to Tennessee and conveniently switched to Georgia at the last minute.

One title in 41 years is not a dynasty. We got enough of their fans on here begging for attention, without our fans acting like they'll never lose again. Free speech and all though.
He didn't even remotely reference the past 40 years. He said it was STARTING, since they're defending champs and he expects another win. It's like some of you can't read or just make up stuff to argue against.

Who is going to beat them is my only question? No one has looked that impressive this year overall throughout the whole year.

And some of you obviously don't understand context, this isn't the only thread they're in, and yes, some are claiming they're a dynasty. You got Georgia fans on our board trashing Tennessee, and you choose to argue with a Tennessee fan who is calling them out?🤣 Give me a break, you must be a Kirby lover like a few other "Tennessee fans" around here.

Georgia has looked beatable in many of their games they’ve played this year. Not sure it’s a forgone conclusion they just win it all
