Georgia's record...

Is GA's record based on how great they are or the fact that many of those teams were not as competitive?
Both for the most part. They're very talented and with the exceptions of Kent State and Mizzou plus the second half of UF when they went asleep at the wheel... they've roughly handled their opponents. UT has played better opponents but has some less impressive wins vs UF and Pitt.

The combined record of the FBS teams they've beaten is 29-27. They have played and beaten what most consider to be the 4 weakest teams in the SEC- Auburn, Mizzou, Vandy, and USCe. UF is no better than the next tier up at 4-4. Oregon was a good win but two things factor. One is that they are an improved team. The other is that the Pac12 isn't very good this year. Utah who may be the best team in the conference lost to UF... and it wasn't a fluke.

Among the teams UGA has beaten, only Oregon is ranked.

What teams have they faced as strong or stronger than us?
The combined record of UT's opponents is 31-26 skewed by Akron's 1-8 record.

If you look only at P-5 opponents, UGA's opponents' combined record is 26-22 while UT's is 26-14. I believe the power rankings from various sources have LSU, Bama, and UK ranked above any SEC team UGA has faced.

Next level deeper... UGA's SEC opponents average:

10th in scoring O
10th in total O
10th in scoring D
9th in total D

UT's opponents average:

7th in scoring O
8th in total O
5th in scoring D
6th in total D

Funny that UF tends to skew their opponent numbers better... and UT's worse.

UT's wins include 2 currently ranked teams- LSU and Bama. Three other opponents were ranked at the time UT played them. Best I can tell only Oregon has been ranked when they played UGA.

Sorry if you were looking for a shorter answer. Bottom line is that UT has played a more difficult schedule by any measure you want to apply.

I think that Oregon game with Georgia would be much different if played now. Oregon was poorly prepared and to many new faces had not gotten in sync yet.
Hard to say. I wish Oregon played LSU. I think those are fairly similar teams at this point.

Kirby Smart is overrated, we already beat the best team in football and that was Alabama . This game is going to be a cake walk.
Tennessee 45
Georgia 29
Our defense is coming around at the exact time. Besides we have the next gen Steve spurrier as our coach.
Ssshhhh! We’re Back . Next 10 yrs will be sweet.

im all for being optimistic but saying Georgia will be a cake walk is silly.

I am curious to this as well and what happened with the Kent State game?
vs Kent State, Ladd McConkey put the ball on the ground twice and Stetson threw a pick. If they score six on two of those, we're probably not talking about the Kent St game. The game was never in doubt.
vs MO, Stetson had his worst performance as a Dawg. Threw it 40-somthing times. Offense put the ball on the ground twice. Road game at night in the SEC is not the place/time to have a game like that. Their kicker nailed 5 FGs, two over 50 yds. UGA put the ball in the RB's hands in the fourth qtr, driving the field twice and pulled out the win.
Don't think there's as much pressure on UGA to win Saturday as there is for UT. That's the mindset the offense needs to have. Expect the defense to play like their head's on fire. Should be an entertaining game.

Not as much pressure in GA…?
You are favored, have been in top 3 all year, sec champion ship and playoff birth is on the line and you’ve been talking **** more than a plumber at an elephant farm. You lose this and you look like pompous dumbazz blow hards ( which is categorically true). Vols are supposed to lose according to everyone….that’s why we will play loose. I hope you defense comes hard… opens up our receivers on the short passes! This will be fun….
Dobbnail 2.0?!?

Have you watched the teams in the PAC-12? Not good football.
Be that as it may, the dude asked what offenses UGA had played and Oregon is ranked # 3 in the nation in total offense (fun fact, we are # 1 and UGA is # 2).

Dude, I get it. The last decade has been tough on you. But seems like the consensus is at worst split 50/50. Have yet to hear anyone who watches ball say UT can't win the game. Congrats on your successful first 2/3's of the season. UT has exceeded most expectations.

In fairness, Oregon was horrible 1st game of the year. New coach, New QB...
This… they weren’t ready for that game which is not Georgia’s fault. But if they played again it would be a much closer game with Georgia still winning.

Now, would that mean that Georgia has regressed? Of course not. Sometimes you just catch teams at the right or wrong time -whichever way you want to look at it.

That win keeps looking better and better for UGA. I personally have no problem with the Champs being #1 until somebody beats them. While there schedule up to now doesn't stack up to ours they are the Champs and they have taken care of business. I want them to be #1 when we knock them off their high horses. Living amongst them will be glorious!
I agree. Like my son reminded me. Wasn't it better to beat Bama with a full speed Bryce Young, than him out with an injury? Bring your best - if the Vols win, don't grant excuses. (Oh forgot about the refs... classic fallback scapegoat).

Terrible take on the pressure. Defending national champions at home against a historic rival 1 vs 2 with the SEC championship spot likely on the line. The pressure on both sides is going to be intense, but y’all have the added pressure of being expected to win.

A lot of excuse making on this post. Look UGA didn’t play well agains Kent State or Missouri. It happens. We didn’t play well against UF. As far as pressure? TN isn’t picked to win. Most think you guys win. The pressure is on you because if we come into Athens and whip UGA then whoa buddy.

Definitely freezing cold take on who has the pressure. It's in your house and you are favored. You're also the reigning National champions going against a program that was 7-6 last year. There's no pressure on Tennessee. Any rational person would consider this season a massive W even if our guys lose in Athens this week but the dawg faithful will consider this season a failure if you don't make it to Atlanta

Lulz. Funny how we can go from one extreme to the other quicker than a Hooker to Hyatt TD.

Maybe so. The fans probably feel it, but I doubt the playas do. Kirby does a purty good job of keeping the team focused on the task at hand and this 2022 team is not defending anything. This is Tennessee week. It will be a great atmosphere in Athens, but there is still ALOT of fb yet to be played.
