Ghosts..... Have you ever seen them?

Does anyone remember this photo on the news a few years back? It was one of those "unexplained photographs" that people originally saw as a dog ,but the man said he didn't even own a dog. Some believe it to be a demon. Who knows?

I don't think that's really a dog/face. It's just an angle with the background that happens to look like a dog on the 2D plane.

JMO.

I've never seen one, but I had my name called by what I thought was my wife, plain as day no mistaking. Weird thing is, my wife or anyone else was not in the house.

Escape Ghost?

Visited Savannah last week, and ate lunch at Pirate's House (alleged source of innumerous hauntings).

Waiter took a pic of hallway with my phone, showed an image of a woman in long dress, like Sab when he sees a pic of a shirtless recruit, it created quite a stir in the restaurant.

No, I won't upload it. Feel entirely free to dismiss my claim in absence of that evidence.

I forgot about this thread... But anyways I have a story for you guys.

This experience changed my view on paranormal spirits, and has made me a 110% believer.

I was over at a friends house, a couple months back, right when spring football was going on. He lived in the wide open country-side, and his house set up on a hill. It was a nice 2 story house, lots of rooms, and area. Behind his house about 3/4 of a mile away, was an abandoned, white barn. It had probably been abandoned for 50-60 years. There was a layout of a house about a quarter of a mile away from it, and around the whole landscape of the land, was a white fence. What makes this story so intriguing, is that it was supposebly a wealthier families farm back in the day. The farmer was said to be hiding money from his wife, when the economy was struggling, in the top of the barn. Well one day he was working and must've left the property and the wife went to check around the barn, since her husband was doing a project on it. She found all of his savings that he had been hiding from her, in a wooden crate, on the second floor. Outraged by this, she goes crazy. They were said to be living on barely any food, and the husband had been saving money for new supplies. It's said that the farmer came back late that night and walked into the barn to find his wife. She lured him in and then grabbed a pitchfork off the wall, and stabbed him through his throat, pinning him upon the wall. She apparently then proceeded to gut him, tie rope around his legs and hang him from the second story. Then she proceeded to burn down the house, and she was never seen again. Us being 16 year old guys, we had to check this barn out. His parents were leinient on us on going outside at night, and the only rule was not to take his Jeep anywhere. We went out around 1:15 AM and walked all the way to the barn. He brought one of those big, flashlights that can be held with two hands, so we had a bunch of light. We get to the barn, and surprisingly enough, there was still hay stored in the front corner of the barn, and it looked like someone had been through lately. We explored it, front to back, and really didn't see anything of interest. So we went upstairs and sat down, just relaxing, letting our legs hang over the edge. Feeling like rebels, because we were about a mile away from his house. I remember getting a text from my girlfriend at 2:33 A.M. and we decided to head back. When we were walking down the steps, we heard it. It went on for about 5 seconds, and sounded like a s"entence, echoing in the barn. All we could make out was the words "I" and then "paid." We sprint out the entrance of the barn, absolutely horrified. I don't know what happened that night, and all I can think it might have been the farmer. I remember having goosebumps for about 5 minutes, after we sprinted about a 1/4 of a mile back. We haven't went back to the barn, and never plan on it. Call me crazy, but I know what I heard that night, and that is enough for me to say there are paranormal spirits in this world.

I have never seen a ghost. No one else has seen a ghost either, they do not exist. Why is anything some people can't explain automatically becomes supernatural?

Why are you so ignorant about a topic, when you can't prove there is no such thing?

I'm pretty sure you knew what I meant. What I meant is what makes you so sure there aren't ghosts?

One of the many reasons is the James Randi Educational Foundation's Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge. No one will ever win the prize, a few will try. They will look like fools. Look it up when you get the chance.

How are you so certain that there are? What about fairies? Pixies? Tall midgets and smallish dwarves? Bigfoot?

Where do you draw the line?

Didn't we have a conversation similar to this in the religion thread a few months ago?

I've had an experience, and it's good enough for me.

RockyTop, you don't think there could be any rational explanation for your experience, whatsoever?

Maybe there was a drug deal going on in there and you didn't know it?

Maybe your friend set you up and you didn't know it?

Maybe you're schizophrenic and you don't know it?

Maybe you were high and didn't know it?

Maybe his parents tricked you and you didn't know it?

I'm not saying there aren't ghosts, but I'd say at least 99% of most "witness" accounts can be explained. For instance, a big one on Ghost Hunters is people feeling like they've been grabbed. I've had spasms in my shoulder and back that straight felt like someone grabbed me. I admit it shocked me when it happened but that's what it was.

The only experience I've had that I even remotely consider "legit" is an episode of sleep paralysis where for about 10 seconds I "watched" myself sleep and was able to see my wife in the next room reading a book. I saw what was on TV and what time it was on the wall. That kind of creeps me out, but even that I could it was a dream/hallucination where my mind projected what was going on around me and did a really good job of creating it. And that wasn't even a ghost sighting.
