Ghosts..... Have you ever seen them?

Hebrews 9:27 declares, “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” That is what happens to a person’s soul-spirit after death—judgment. The result of this judgment is heaven for the believer (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23) and hell for the unbeliever (Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:22-24). There is no in-between. There is no possibility of remaining on earth in spirit form as a “ghost.” If there are such things as ghosts, according to the Bible, they absolutely cannot be the disembodied spirits of deceased human beings.

right, so they r demons

To reiterate the point I made earlier in the thread: No, I have never seen a ghost and no one else has either.

I am a Christian, but when is judgement for the soul? Is their a day when all souls are judged, as god calls Judgement day? When Christ returns? Or do the spirits get judged when they die? I believe in a Judgement day. So there very well could be roaming spirits. If you're a Christian, you should believe in demons, as multiple times it refers to them.

A silly thread got religion , there is no one god,,,,that's how I stir the pot..im religious I worship magnets .

At first glance I thought this was another classic thread by Billy C.

That wasn't a ghost, man. That was your mom farting.

Shut the **** up, you dumb prick. It's a bit unnecessary to go into every thread and say the same ****. I live with my parents in the summer. So do 60% of college kids.

Someone is sensitive. You need to PM Ravenheart, (s)he can give you some advice on how to handle these situations.

Even better, you could go sit down on a bedpost.

This is pretty funny ****. I was definitely menstruating.

Okay, I think I posted this before, but I am going to share again.

My brother and I were playing xbox in his room. My parents were cooking dinner and we started smelling smoke. We kidded back and forth about how our mom burnt whatever food we were having. We get called down to dinner and everything is fine though. That's when we get worried and tell our dad about the smoke. He and I rush upstairs and follow the smell to the guest bedroom. We have a small alcove in the room underneath a dormer window. That is where it was smoking. We had a contractor who lived next door come by and just see if we were okay. Never figured out what caused it or anything, but we guessed an electrical fire in the outlet.

While he is looking over the upstairs I decide to take a nap in my brother's room. He was still playing, at the time. Some minutes later I awaken to a poke in my shoulder (I was lying on my side). I can just sense it isn't any of my family. I'm so scared to roll over. I'm poked again. All of a sudden my chest constricts sort of. I can't breathe. I try to move and my body just won't work. I guess only seconds go by. All of a sudden it feels like I'm being grabbed and shaken so hard, yet I don't even move. Then I have the worst pain in my ears. It feels like my eardrums are just going to explode. It's like I'm under thirty feet of water and dealing with the pressure. And then it stops. I still can't move. And then it hits me again. The shaking and just excruciating pain.

Then the feeling of not being able to move and being held down just washes away. My brother is not in the room and I can hear my mom downstairs helping him with homework. I get up to go pee. Physically get up. Pee. Shake my thing. Flush. Go get back in bed. I nap for a few more minutes before my mom is yelling for me. She wants my help with a math problem. They are still down there doing homework. I don't tell anyone about what happened because of how crazy it sounds. It could have been a dream, but him doing hw in my dream and then doing hw when I actually go down and help is just so coincidental. The whole encounter felt so real. The pain and the fear were so real.

Sounds like sleep paralysis.

Sleep Paralysis Symptoms, Treatment, and Causes

Have you ever felt like you were awake but unable to move? You might have even felt afraid but could not call for help? This condition is called sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis may leave you feeling frightened, especially if you also see or hear things that aren't really there. Sleep paralysis may happen only once, or you may have it frequently -- even several times a night.

Over the centuries, symptoms of sleep paralysis have been described in many ways and often attributed to an "evil" presence: unseen night demons in ancient times, the old hag in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, and alien abductors. Almost every culture throughout history has had stories of shadowy evil creatures that terrify helpless humans at night. People have long sought explanations for this mysterious sleep-time paralysis and the accompanying feelings of terror.

Sleep Paralysis: Awake But Still Asleep | Serendip's Exchange

A person may wake up and find himself unable to move or speak as if he is frozen. He also may hear footsteps, see a ghost-like creature, or feel someone sitting on his chest. Throughout the history, people considered this phenomenon as work done by evil spirits. However, the modern science can explain the terrifying event as a Sleep Paralysis.

A Sleep Paralysis is possibly a hereditary disorder in which one experiences very frightening seconds or minutes of total body paralysis with little respiration and eye movements. A victim in this state feels awake, but he cannot move or speak. In addition to the immobility, the common symptoms include feeling choked or suffocated, hearing strange noises like footsteps and voices, seeing beings or dark shadows, and feeling an existence of someone in the room. Although these symptoms often direct the victims to believe in ghosts, mistransmission of neural signals in the brain causes Sleep Paralysis. When a person sleeps, his brain sends signals to inhibit any muscle contraction. If he comes into consciousness before the brain sends signals to activate muscle contraction, he cannot move his body, and consequently, become "paralyzed"

Also sounds like you could hear your mom and bro downstairs and it infiltrated your dream. That happens to me sometimes if I fall asleep on the couch watching a movie. I literally step into the movie and it can be downright creepy sometimes depending on the flick but overall its pretty cool.

I've never seen nor heard any ghosts but I did have one weird experience when I was about 7 or 8. I had a cousin my age who lived out in the country. I was over at his house one weekend and his dad needed to go to town which is about a 15 minute drive. So we loaded up in his dad's old 1960-something beetle.

We were both crammed into the shotgun seat due to lack of space and I had the window. A couple miles down the 2-lane road we pass by an area with planted pines that were tall enough to provide a clear view into the woods with no underbrush. Anyways, I happen to look over into the woods and about 40 yards in I see a creepy figure wearing a dark reddish hood and cloak (think Obi Wan Kinobi type attire) and walking with a cane. The figure was hunched over and creeping slowly through the woods walking in the same direction as us but kind of away so I never got to see a face or hands. This was in the middle of a bright sunny day and my eyes locked onto it for a good 3-4 seconds.

After we finally passed I turned back around and stared out the windshield and probably didn't say a word for the rest of the trip. Looking back on it I wish I would've had the guts to tell my uncle to turn around and go check it out. I don't think I ever told anyone about it except my girlfriend and we both had a good laugh.

Funny that sleep paralysis is brought up. I actually had an experience with it just a few days ago. First time ever for me. No previous run ins with it whatsoever(at least as far as I can remember). I just woke up one morning last week and literally couldn't move for a good 20-30 seconds or so, then suddenly just snapped out of it. I was aware of what I was experiencing, but it was still hard not to get a little stressed from the "crushed" feeling that comes with not being able to move.

But what about the pain? I really don't think this was a dream. I am 90ish% percent sure I had woken up since I got up to piss anyways.

Couldn't tell ya.

Maybe it was something else. The description just kind of made it sound that way.

You've partially been awake during dreams and had dreams that feel real, haven't you? I think you can partially be dreaming when it happens. And I know I've had dreams that felt super real. Sometimes I feel like it actually happened and it takes a minute to sink in that it was just a dream.

Fwiw, I've had one experience involving ghosts. Didn't see a ghost but saw things moving that shouldn't have been. I can't remember if I posted it. I think I did but might just post it again after a bit

I've had an experience, too, and so has my mom. That's why I put this up. I've never dreamed about a ghost before, and never had a dream that was this real. I guess I'll never know. It was scary, though. I put my other experience in here already.

Yeah, it's stressful.

I've had it happen like 10 times probably and a couple of the times I thought it was ghosts. I just had this weird feeling and I couldn't scream or move.

The one time I had this flapping noise(like sheets) and it was thrashing in my ears. I really thought it was a ghost. Especially because I had a dream where I was in my old basement growing up. In the dream I had the presence of ghosts down there and the second I tried to scream I was lifted into the air and thrown back into the wall by nothing.

Dreams and all of that stuff can be intense. The worst was growing up when I had dreams I'd fall over the stair case and continue falling or for a long time ago a couple years ago I was dreaming like every night and I was always floating through the air. Usually inside the house and I was stuck up against a ceiling. Wtf? lol

So my experience...

My friends family was out of town in high school and we were 17 I believe. It was me and my two best friends. We had all experimented with different stuff and we always did it together the first time. So anyways, my friends family had just moved into this super old house out in the country. Me and my one friend were stoned, the other friend wasn't. They were both sitting across the room from me on a couch and I was sitting in a recliner. So it's probably 11 at night or 1 in the morning. I honestly don't remember the time, just that it was late. All of a sudden, the doorknob on the door next my chair started turning back and forth and rattling. Ironically, we were talking about ghosts since we thought the places was haunted. I know for a fact we were the only ones there and it was door inside the house so it's not like it could have been wind or anything. My sober friend(the one who lived there) tried writing it off as the cat. So, start banging on the door and doing whatever I could to get the turn knob to turn or rattle. Nope... the doorknob was as tight as could be.

In the future, we'd go on to find out a little more. My friend was the oldest of the family and he'd wake up his brothers and sister in morning for school. There bedroom had a door leading up to the attic. The attic was all refinished wood and had this weird/artsy structure to it. There was a couch up there, tv, pool table, fire place. Anyways, every morning he'd wake them up and go up to the attic to watch tv before school or whatever. And every morning, blankets and pillows that are supposed to be upstairs on the couch were at the bottom of the staircase to the attic. He'd ask his brothers and sisters why they kept doing that and they always said they didn't.

So... Idk. That house always creeped me out though.

And another ghost story that I wasn't actually involved in.

I went to school with this girls since I was 6 years old. She was basically one of the hottest and most popular girls in schools. Absolutely no reason to lie about anything since she was popular and attractive anyways. If anything, saying this stuff would make her look like a weirdo. Well... she had told me about her brother sleeping on the couch and when he woke up, an old bearded man was bent over him looking at him. Her brother was probably 15 when this happened. Then, she told me about passing one of the rooms with a chair in it on the way to her bedroom and she saw a little boy sitting it in. To top it off, she said water was always being added to their shampoo and soap in the shower. When they'd ask each other who is doing it, they'd all say it wasn't them. Come to find out, an old Amish family lived there and an old Amish man had died there. Preserving stuff by adding water is something Amish people do. I guess someone could be playing a joke on their family but that would be a pretty messed up joke.
