Court packing is completely constitutional because the number of SCOTUS justices is set by statute, not the Constitution. You can the number by changing the statute.
Every time you bring this up you are clearly making the case that SCOTUS appts are pure politics and the needless screeching around taking the Appt when the opportunity presents is stupid and making the appt is the clear correct course of action.

They are serious. Down the road we could expect to see dozens and added termly to the political whim. Basically ungovernable and probably just a good time to end it altogether.

If they weren't partisan, it wouldn't make any difference who appointed them, and they would all get 100 votes.

Remember not that long ago when most were nominated by large margins and not just party line votes

Interesting question whether trying to ram through a SCOTUS appointment now would work given Mitch's prior stance. It could backfire, give the Senate to the Dems, and potentially lead to court packing if the Dems controlled both the Senate and Presidency. And what counterarguments could the Republicans put forth with a straight face? They clearly played games with the judiciary, leading to what is effectively a gerrymandered federal bench.
Wasn't Mitch just following the "Biden Rule"? Also said rule was for a lame duck second term president. The counterargument is running for president as the democratic nominee.

Harry Reid started the games in the Senate. And if you want to pack the court then be prepared for the other party to un pack the court when they are in the majority. None of this non sense was ever talked about as long as Democrats could get results from the courts they could never get done in the legislature. So STFU with your court packing threats. You don't scare anyone

No, under his rule Trump would not be able to appoint a successor. If he tried, it would kill him in his own reelection bid
Not true. His rule was in an election year when the White House and Senate are held by different parties.

If she leaves SCOTUS I cannot wait to see the ensuing meltdown you have as Cocaine Mitch screams thru a SCOTUS appointee in record time 😂

They are gonna nuke the filibuster and pack the court. When they pack the court, it will break the nation.
