Solar post like theseI agree. They one thing they haven't tried is benching her for extended periods, and it's time. I hate to pile on, but she's killing the team when she's on the floor. You are starting to see the frustration with her teammates (particularly Davis) as she continues to make the same ridiculous mistakes over and over. It's killing team morale...
I think we're all Jordan believers - no one is happy with what has happened to her. Not sure I understand the rest, don't recall Rick doing a deep dive on the difference btw consider and think what they've done. Depends on what your definition of IS is I guess.
That's probably true, generally players wanna play. But there is also a chance less minutes might be a big relief to her. There have to be times making the same mistakes over and over in public is just painful for her. No doubt she desperately wants to get better and does not want to hurt the team's chances. Maybe she's ready to semi-shut down for the season.
OTOH, maybe she's doubling her determination, seeing the upcoming post season (whatever that may be) as a clean slate. In three or four weeks, when the LVs are making a magical Cinderella run with JH shining, we'll be seeing our own gloomy posts and being told "that didn't age well". Dream scenario, with no available evidence to predict it will happen, but hey, even I can be hopeful.
I am focused on JH right now b/c IMO, she's both the thorniest problem and the biggest key to any postseason success. She's the mass producer of our worst bugaboo, tuornvers, and its very obviously in her head. She's also the potential answer to some our other problems, especially to provide some depth and another scoring threat. Unfortunately, I don't see the improvement you saw last night, but I sure hope you're right. Not directing this at you glv98 (just a general observation), people are getting too focused on Jordan
Thought it was Juicy Fruit but I could be wrong.
Butler’s field house is Hinkle Fieldhouse and is the coolest place to watch basketball.A few tid bit about "Hoosier's".....
Jack Nicholson was set to play Norman Dale, but due to a legal situation, Jack could not work for 6 months...Another story says he had a scheduling conflict and could not do the film......In any event, he gave his blessings and the film was made without him....
Dennis Hopper and Jack were big pals and Dennis was very disappointed when Jack could not do the film, but he gave a magnificent performance just the same...His character "Shooter", was a fictitious character added to the story for dramatic effect.....
The actual real coach of the championship Indiana High School team, Marvin Wood, continued to coach basketball for many years after winning the state championship....His last team he coached was his granddaughters 7th grade basketball team...(Coach Jumper should like that)
Bobby Plump, the character Jimmy Chitwood is based on, got a 4 year basketball scholarship to Butler University, and was their MVP for several seasons...He is also one of the top free throw shooters in the history of the NCAA Tournament...
The final game in the film, was played at Butler's University field house...This was the actual place of the real game, and an added honor to Bobby Plump, and the game that made Indiana high school basketball history....
This game was long before the shooting time clock....That is why the score is fairly low....It was not uncommon for teams to freeze the ball with a lead....
One final note, Bobby Plump never said "I'll make it" like Jimmy Chitwood said in the film, instead coach Wood told him to take the final shot.....And he did!
Butler’s field house is Hinkle Fieldhouse and is the coolest place to watch basketball.
Still has wooden seats without backs and the true fieldhouse barrel roof with walls of windows at the ends. If you are a B.B. junkie it is a treat to go to a game there.
Crazy to argue, tho I'm sure someone will, that this season is not an overall improvement on previous seasons. It's hard numbers on paper. We won more games, we beat the teams we should beat who we had previously been losing to. Some players, notably Davis and Jaz, took major developmental steps forward during the offseason.Everyone harping on the “level of improvement throughout the season” needs to just imagine if our schedule was flipped. Please. The improvement overall is there. It’s just masked by improved and improving competition. Like Harper said in her last post game “I’m glad we came out with a win” a lot of “better” teams have lost to these “lesser” teams at this part in the season. I mean it’s sooooo easy to find examples too. (See Vandy, Ala, Aub, FL, heck even Ole Miss)
Ordinarily I would go the opposite way on such a post, as I am a true Jordan horston believer. But I agree with Rick Barnes, giving them time to consider what they've done versus give them time to think about what they've done is a whole different approach. I agree and pulling her fur careless mistakes or for over playing mistakes but to keep her on the bench extendedly is going to give you and adverse reaction. Giving someone typed too much time to think persimmon a mental status that it's hard to get out of.
.
Pales compared to what Holly did, after 4, end of season 5 lost starters, but sure, give her due, for winning, with worst outside lead schedule I can ever remember. Holly was SEC coach of yr and top 3 for National Coach. Kellie might be Grear, but her staff isn't SEC ready, she should bring in new blood soon.I think the LadyVols will be 22-10 going into the NCAA Tournament and that's a darn good first season for Coach Harper
