True. I was working off the industrial boom post WWII. Roughly 60% of the population was considered middle class. That led to an auto boom as well. I do feel strongly that without a large %age of the world's easily tapped oil supply, we don't give 2 shats about the ME.

Come on man, you know they really don't need a reason, they use any excuse as a reason to kill the infidels(Us). I agree that it can hurt the innocent people by rresticting goods in , but i can't agree with you that it's the reason the hate us, we all know their belief system is why they hate us.

This crap is basically gsvol-lite. There are, believe it or not, massively Islamic states that you can openly go in to as an American and be perfectly safe. Why? Because we have no geo-strategic interests in these places (Turkey, Indonesia). Terrorism, internal conflict and guerrilla warfare happen in the ME for the same reason they happen anywhere else: piss poor socioeconomic status for a lot of people. That fight then has to run through a conduit, and Islam happens to be that conduit. Christianity is used the same way in Africa and was used that way in Northern Ireland.

This is pretty much the case. We had large-scale auto manufacturing already in place from the war effort, and a large middle class settling back in. The auto industry exploded, and the demand for oil along with it. Then commercial uses for petroleum proliferated at the same time, with polymers, etc.

in much the same way that I would view Keith Olbermann as "viciously divisive" I'm sure you see Beck in the same light.

The difference between us is that I would never excuse nor rationalize Olbermann and his family being harassed in a similar manner.

As far as searching google, I'm sure I could find an endless listing of snippets provided by Media Matters, Kos, Huffpo, Dem Underground, and so on. All it would prove to me as that the left, which allegedly prides itself on being tolerant and willing to debate any issue in a civil manner, is really little more than a bunch of petty, sniveling cowards.

I'd rather listen to Limbaugh or even Ed Schultz than Beck. And again, for your little records, I've listened to everyone I mentioned in this post long enough to have a grasp on their aim and style.

As I said earlier, just google "glenn beck <insert derogatory term here>" ... You can piss and moan all you want, but I don't see facts backing up your claims that he ISN'T a PoS.
