I like Bruce, a lot. I loathe that he is Auburn’s coach (or any SEC team). His success with
them is like pouring acid in a wound. I could easily pull for him if he was not in the same conference. His son is very unlikable.

1st of all: Bruce Pearl is not only a great coach - he’s a really good guy! (Not on the same scale as Ric Barnes)
— But, I remember when one of our players Dad died - And Pearl loaded the whole team on a bus & took them to the funeral. — Things like that are more important than competition or winning “games”!

2nd: I’ve never really had a problem with Auburn fans…..

And, the “gator-chomp” is one of the most obnoxious images in college sports!
(I consider it worse than “Roow’l Tyde” & UGA fans “Wooo-fing” all the time……)

3rd: I honestly can’t stomach Florida winning another National Championship, right now!

— Their sports teams were working NIL before it ever even existed!: Tebow - Ya’ Think???!; Their “students” only go there to get access to sports tickets!; Their campus is a minor “blip”- inside of a whole Swamp of CRAP!; And, their fans are obnoxious as HELL!

(Call it BVS - or whatever! — But if Tennessee didn’t win it ALL in Baseball last year, we would probably ALL be in “disappointment mode”).

Let’s Go Auburn / Pearl! — And CHEERS to a Championship!!!

Pearl simultaneously emits good things and bad things. His actions have not historically lined up with his words. He is passionate in what he believes, but if your role model is ‘an alright dude,” that’s a pretty bad choice for a role model.

Doesn't mean he isn't a sleazebag, but Pearl backed up his stance that losing to UT, Florida and Bama wasn't a deterrent. He laughed at the notion. I loved it but he's still NEVER coming back to Knoxville

That’s cool and all but that really doesn’t make him an “alright” guy just because he compliments his old job.

Yeah, I'm not necessarily looking for a role model. The context was guy said Pearl " was not a good guy at all".
I'm just saying with some of the other scummy things we've seen out of some of the coaches in the last few years what he did wasn't all that bad.
He served his punishment without any noteworthy new controversies.
Moreover, since then he has been very complimentary of UT. Hence, IMO, he's not a bad guy/ an alright dude. I personally have no reason to dislike him.

I didn't say it did. Just saying I have no real reason at this point to hate the guy/ say he is not a good person.
Barnes is good friends with him, I trust his judge of character.

I can assure you that that relationship characterization by Pearl is not accurate. I don’t dislike Pearl, but you can’t trust what he says.

You can't assure me that, because you have no idea what their relationship is.
You are not either of them and unless you personally know them the only word you can use that has has the letters a-s-s- in it is not assure but assume.
Pearl says they are good friends and Barnes hasn't said otherwise.

When have I ever said Pearl was coming back or anything at all about wanting him to come back here? I've said more than once he isn't ever coming back here.
