Speaking as a life long Godzilla Fanboy this movie looks like it could be the best one yet. Godzilla 1985 has always been my favorite but I got a feeling this one will become my new number 1. I am doing the IMAX experience on this one.

You didn't think it would be "R" did you?

The studio wants to make money not just from tickets but from everything that goes with it merchandising etc.. and its been proven a fact that movies rated "R" don't make as much money as "PG-13" rated films.

Out of the Top 15 grossing films of 2013 the only "R" rated film The Heat was ranked 15th.

Just looking back from 2010-2012 very few "R" films have cracked the top 10 grossing films of the year.

In 2010 only two "R" films made the top 20. The King's Speech at 18th & Shutter Island at 20th.

2011 again only two "R" rated films cracked the top 20! The highest managed to sneak in the top 5 and that was The Hangover II at 4th and the second was Bridesmaids at 14th.

2012 again only two films in the top 20 one was Ted at 9th and the other Django Unchained at 15th

There's really no reason for Godzilla to be R.

No need for graphic violence, as you're dealing with a lizard so large that it's not gonna be like it shows him chewing a person up.

No need for gratuitous sex, or for excessive cursing.
