Vandy...The first game of the season will be exciting but only for the first quarter and after We are up 28-0 or something along those lines you will hear a pin drop in the place...Vandy will be high energy throughout

It will be high energy because we will be up 45-0 halfway through the 4th and the UT fans will be begging for more points.

Vandy, so you can taunt their 3 fans after the game.

"Quit living in the past, guys."

Their message boards always say stuff like this. You see a lot of "Tennessee fans live in the past, we are geared towards the future!!"

........ as though all teams in all sports aren't "geared towards the future". That's why recruiting and drafting exists.

Lol...I looked at the poll result and nobody picked that team

I was not so serious

Is it hot as hell in August there, yeah? I've only been to NFL games (Georgia Dome)

Since i'm in Chattanooga, Atlanta is only an hour away BUT I went only because they were playing the Titans and I had front row tickets behind the Titans bench

What are the chance of that Vandy game being an ESPN or Night game?

Hot and humid. How hot depends on the time of day. Low 70s in the morning 90s to 100s mid day to early evening. 80s until 8-9pm. This is normal August weather in Tennessee but is subject to change.

No doubt, Austin Peay. Opening games are electric. You'll also be able to tell your grandkids that you went to a Hall of Fame coach's 1st game at UT. :)

True... Or you could go to the Vandy game and tell your grandkids that you went to 8th win of a season where 6 wins was going to be considered a success of said Hall of Fame coach :)

Really only Vandy is slightly representative of a legit Neyland experience and that is only due to last year. The other games wil not be sell outs. Even in our best years these OOC games were always different.

APSU might be close. First game of the season. New coach. Renewed excitment.

I vote 1st game...The Vandy game will be cold.

Also, season opener...always fun.

On a side note...scalped tickets for Austin Peay will be the most expensive.

I'd also say AP is the best one out of those games. First game of the year is always worth going to. Vandy is a decent SEC experience, but still doesn't come anywhere near the atmosphere of when one of the big boys are in town. If you plan on going to the Austin Peay game, get your tickets ASAP. There's a lot of truth behind what Volview said, scalpers will be out in full force that weekend.
