Going to Norman?

As far as tickets go anyone know what sections OU uses for visitors? Would prefer to sit among Vols if possible

The south EZ has been enclosed since the VOLS were at OU in 2014. Unless you are coming up from Dallas I would stay in the Bricktown area of downtown OKC. Norman is basically a suburb of OKC so the drive down is not bad. Hopefully it will be a night game.
Is Bricktown worth staying in? I've already booked a room there because it seemed to be the "entertainment" section of town but sometimes those areas can actually be dead or in transition (aka sketchy).

I’ll be there, had a GREAT time last time with a group of Okies who hosted me...and I in return hosted them in Knoxville.
I’m looking for a different/better game/outcome THIS trip! Last time was Worley getting outplayed, but it WAS the premiere if Barnett...(”TAF...WHO the HELL is that #9??!!”) and Sutton’s BIG hit...
Go VOLS!

I'm hoping to be able to go. It's 3 hours 40 minutes from my front door to the stadium, would probably just drive in the morning of and drive back after the game. Told my wife that the only thing I want for a gift this year is two tickets to UT/OU and two tickets to UT/ARK.

They were doing the checkerboard pattern in the stands that we copied ad nauseum afterwards. Were you in the end zone near the band?

If you looked out from the end zone with the two stripes of UT fans we were on the right side about 30 yd line in the heart of their fans. They were shockingly nice

Waaay behind you up near the top. Sooner fans are class!
You guys were classy as well. Both in Norman and in Knoxville. We're honored to host ya'll again.

For those looking at hotel/motel arrangements that are having a hard time finding places in Norman/Moore/OKC, you might want to check Paul's Valley to the south of Norman. It's about a 30-40 minute drive up I-35 to the stadium parking areas and generally overlooked.

That map is slightly dated and doesn't reflect the new sections put in during the renovation.

Here's some info for those coming in. I do know your visitor's will call is at Gate 1 and where the Vol Walk will be (that was really cool in 2014).

Avoid Gates: 10, 14/15 and 16/17 since they are premium entrances unless you have Club/Suite tickets. Gate 8 doesn't exist (freight entrance and garbage disposal)

Thanks for the tip. My wife and I were talking this past weekend about coming up for the game. We were there in 2014. We should probably go ahead and nail down some hotel accommodations. Since we are coming from DFW, the southern hotels make sense.

I would say it's easier to get to as well, but getting off that campus on game days is quite the challenge.

Don’t bother for a couple of hours at least imo. It’s a no go after the team busses depart.

Hey Vader !

I've got some friends driving up for the game from Temple and they are staying at a hotel South of Norman in a town called Lindsey. According to them it's what they always do when going to a game in Norman or OKC and it works for them, about a 50 min drive to stadium from there they said.

I'd suggest parking at the LNC and using the shuttles to get to the stadium. $5 for a two-way ticket and you can jump on Highway 9 a little easier.
Thanks again for the tips! I will scratch you off my "rival posters to ban" list.

We stayed in Bricktown in 2014 and had a great time. Not sketchy at all

Following up: agree on motel south of Norman if coming up 35 from Dallas. You exit at highway 9 and enter the south campus area. Your band will be in section 35 along with your fans. Another visitors section is at the top of the NE corner of the stadium. Bricktown is a fully developed comprehensive entertainment district. I strongly recommend a visit to the OKC Bombing Memorial. The bar and restaurant area is called Campus Corner and it's on the North edge of the campus. The stadium is in the SE corner of the stadium. The Switzer Center is closed on GameDay. Heisman Park where the winner's statues are located is on the east side of the stadium. The Vol team buses will park on the south oval at the SW corner of the stadium.
