Golesh to South Florida

Heupel runs a very specific, unique system. You aren’t going to convince a big-named OC who is going to want to run things his way to come here. Halzle has been with Heupel a looooong time. He knows how this system works and he doesn’t have a big ego that will need to be placated.
Don’t disagree… our brand now opens up for Heupel to explore a better OC pool if he chooses

You could go the other way and say those qbs committed there because of continuity and knowing who the coach would be 🤷‍♂️
Tajh Boyd was committed to Tennessee and Kiffin pulled his offer. Lawrence grew up a Tennessee fan but didn’t like Butch Jones’ vibe. I don’t know the deal with Watson as I didn’t follow his recruiting.

Obviously, Lebby would be a homerun, but you don't get him for less than 2 million a season. He will get 1.9 next season. No idea if UT would pay over 2 million or not, it's a day day there, so maybe they would. However, if CJH feels like he helped teach Lebby most of what he knows (valid), I'm sure he's confident he can manage by grooming other guys.

Good for him and I think he can do well there. I am not sure what all the hand wringing is about. Everybody knew he was bound to leave and he deserves it. You can’t have bright young coaches that improve your program and not have them move up. It’s just not the way it works. Some guys will be on the HC track and it’s clear that he was one. CJH though, can attract more talent, either from within or from outside the program.

If we want to be elite, better get used to this. You can’t win ten games every year and keep assistants.

They were very close

Yes, but every good coach knows a sign of success in college football is other teams want your coaches/coordinators as their coaches; it is not an uncommon or unexpected occurrence. Heupel knew this was coming and is undoubtedly happy for Golesh.
