Golesh to South Florida

Was really hoping we could hold on to him for one more season but when your the OC of the best offense in CFB schools are gonna come calling. USF may not win a ton of games next year but they will be fun to watch

I was hopeful for 3-4 years, just for the sake of continuity.

Heup seems like a guy that likes to reward and promote from within.
Halzle gets promoted to OC and continues to handle the QB’s
And
Heup hires either Jon Cooper or Joe Jon Finley to coach the TE’s

Heupel runs a very specific, unique system. You aren’t going to convince a big-named OC who is going to want to run things his way to come here. Halzle has been with Heupel a looooong time. He knows how this system works and he doesn’t have a big ego that will need to be placated.
This on its face is wrong, he went from Lebby to taking over the play calling duties himself to giving Golish the OC job. Halzle has followed him everywhere and didn’t ask him to be OC when Lebby left. If we’re being completely honest with ourselves. Heupel ran an air raid 4 wide system at Missouri. He went and hired Lebby as his OC and plugged in a bunch of the Baylor/ briles concepts, which he got from Lebby. He may try and take a run at Kendal for all we know.

I think he should have been more patient and taken a better opportunity. 1-11 is about as bad as a team can be

Yes, it’s a dumpster fire here. But on the other hand, if he just shows any improvement over 1 win next year, people will be thrilled.

It’s a good area for recruiting if you are willing to work hard and build connections. USF is also building a new on campus stadium so you can sell that.

This isn’t good. Could Heupel be headed to OU eventually?

Is this going to be the panicked reaction any time a coach leaves?

News flash - good programs lose coaches that take HC jobs because of their success here. That's a good thing.

I hope it's something we have to get used to on an annual basis.
