Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman Suspended For 'Lynching' Remark

IMO Fuzzy's comment was a lot worse than what Tilghman said. Tilghman chose her words poorly, but I really don't think she intended for her remarks to have a racial overtone. Zoeller on the other hand, intentionally made a racial joke . . . and it wasn't that funny . . . and it was in front of TV cameras without being prompted.

Yeah, I have to backtrack myself here. Some of those details are coming back to me. Didn't Fuzzy actually say "... fried chicken and watermelon ..."? I will agree that these were racial and the intent was there. Did Al jump on this one? I don't remember. Fuzzy wasn't fired though. Al could actually use his influence to diffuse the situation and use it as an educational moment for people, if he really wanted to help solve race issues. His method only polarizes people more. Check out this CNN interview with the right reverend on the issue.

I think I remember that Zoeller lost an endorsement deal that he had with K-Mart.

hahahaha! I had forgotten about that one. He lost that and the Dunlop deal. I should have known that, I worked at a KMart at the time getting through school.

here is what fuzzy said:

"That little boy is driving well and he's putting well. He's doing everything it takes to win. So, you know what you guys do when he gets in here? You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year. Got it? Or collard greens or whatever the hell they serve."
