IMO Fuzzy's comment was a lot worse than what Tilghman said. Tilghman chose her words poorly, but I really don't think she intended for her remarks to have a racial overtone. Zoeller on the other hand, intentionally made a racial joke . . . and it wasn't that funny . . . and it was in front of TV cameras without being prompted.
Yeah, I have to backtrack myself here. Some of those details are coming back to me. Didn't Fuzzy actually say "... fried chicken and watermelon ..."? I will agree that these were racial and the intent was there. Did Al jump on this one? I don't remember. Fuzzy wasn't fired though. Al could actually use his influence to diffuse the situation and use it as an educational moment for people, if he really wanted to help solve race issues. His method only polarizes people more.
