Golf grips

I would probably do it myself if I wasn't already going to have my clubs extended as well.

I assume you were fitted for the right length/lie. I'd recommend more than one fitting. When you're investing the money, you might as well make sure it's right.

I have been fitted several times. I'm 6'5 with back problems, so the correct fit is ideal. I'm at 1 1/2 inches over standard on the length. Can't remember the lie angle off the top of my head. I usually order clubs to my specific measurements, but I got inpatient with these and now regret it.

I have used the Tour Wraps forever. Change em a couple times a year. Have em built up slightly to take my hands out a little.

I like the half cord stuff, but they get wet in the swampy summer, so I don't bother.

I've used the tour wrap full cord for most of my playing days. My absolute favorite are the Tour Velvet full cord - especially right after scrubbing them they become slightly tacky. But they aren't as durable as the wrap.

i just put them on this January. will definitely pay attention to how they hold up as the season goes along. so far no complaints, especially for the price.

Why did you have to adjust your grip?

i couldn't figure out why i was hitting everything right. my last set of grips were so worn i had to hold the club tighter in my left hand. with new grips, the club is far less likely to slip in my hand. i'm trying to remind myself to not hold the club so tight anymore. the difference is amazing.

Gotcha. I like chord grips because they seem to last longer, but I am going to try something different this time to compare the feel.

It's not so much you're height as it is the length of your arms (or actually, the distance from the ground to your hand placed at your side). Clubs are generally made for an average height of 5' 10". If you're taller, but your arms are actually longer (like many major league pitchers) a standard length club would be fine. It's possible the lie may even need to be adjusted flatter (think Ping red dot). As far as saving grips, all your really need is one of these...

I know how the fitting works, and I know how to save grips. I don't guess anyone reads all the posts anymore. Oh well, thanks for the info anyway.

I'm a tour wrap guy also. No need to make it complicated. They work in cold, dry weather. They work in the middle of July.

Well, I went Saturday to drop the sticks off and do the first half of my fitting. We decided to extend the length of my clubs an inch. I chose to go with the GP tour velvet grip because it was one of only a few they had that was a mid-size grip. I am going back Wednesday, when my clubs are ready, to figure out the lie angle and even if it needs to be adjusted.

Grew up with em. Tried Winns once, they sucked, I'm done. Tour wraps for me.

Tight hands equal no release and big fades. I like the analysis. Good catch. Sucks that it takes so long for Eureka to arrive.

Went by Seemore Putting in Franklin 2 weeks ago. I had no idea how hard I was gripping my putter. They put me on a laser, changed my grip and pressure and I bought a putter. 37 putts the previous round was reduced to 28 after the purchase and lesson. Hope it wasn't beginners luck. I'd never had my putting stroke analyzed before. Pretty cool.

I like the tour velvet a lot. I just had to clean mine on a more frequent basis. I also don't think they're quite as durable as the wrap... but you should like them!

I've used them before, and like them. The grip I wanted didn't come in a mid-size. My hands are too big I guess.

Exact same experience for me. I tried a Winn on my Driver one time and it made me miserable for a couple of weeks and I ripped it off stuck a Tour Wrap back on it.
