91 from the blacks. Not stellar by any means, but I will take it. I was hitting fairways and a few greens that day, but the three putts did me in.
are the black the C'ship tees and was the rough up? If so, 91's a pretty strong effort, especially for the first time on a track. 3 putts are just a part of the deal on unfamiliar greens.

Rough was up, but the blacks are one up from the championship tees. The speed of the putts is what really killed me. I know my caddy was laughing his a$$ off.

Have you ever played the Cliffs in Asheville. I am hoping for an opportunity in the near future.

No, I don't have much call to get to Asheville.

Bowling Green has a relatively new course that is supposedly very demanding and very nice named Old Stone. They played to qualifiers for the Kentucky Open there this year, and several members of my club were very impressed.

Old Stone is beautiful. My nephew actually worked to get that course open. He swears he can get me on over there. Kenny Perry's course is not bad either. The track I play most often in Bowling Green is the Frankiln Country Club. Not much to that one, but my father in law is a member.

once accustomed to really fast greens, putting is much easier because so much less stroke is required of mid range type putts. Chipping, on the other hand, is an entirely different animal.

I typically like fast greens for that very reason. The problem occurs when I get the ball started in the wrong direction.

a couple of others in Charleston i've played that are fun, Charelseton National, on Patriots point, is pretty good, if not too windy, and Wild Dunes....a little expensive for the quality of the course, but not too shabby.

I've played Patriot Point. It's inexpensive but not in good shape.

Anyone ever played at Millstone Golfclub in Morristown?

On #4 the fairway and tee-box are right next to some train tracks and the course is right next to a small airport. Nice course for it's price range, but not too peaceful.

I've played Millstone a few times, don't care alot for the course as a whole but I loved the greens...fast, fast, fast when they host their Pro-Ams.
