This thread was started as I left the FedEx Forum watching the Vols get laughed at by the Memphis Tigers. I mean litterally laughed at. They quit. It was as an embarrassing loss as the Vols have had in a while.
The team made a great turn-around the second half and salvaged an NIT bid. Although they were winning, they never passed the "eye test" of a good team. This was exemplified in losing 2 of the last three to Ole Miss and MTSU at home.
Some think Martin is a great coach and eat up every word he says. But I don't. Buzz Peterson talked a good game too, but he was completely lost at a program like UT. We have tradition and a rabid fan base wanting to win so bad.
Martin still looks lost on the sideline too much for my comfort. He doesn't have any NCAA Tourney experience. He has shown to be stubborn in adjusting. There are just too many question marks with him for me to believe he'll take the program where it needs to be. He'll be the coach for 12-13. But my long term expectations are obviously, very tempered.
