Right. Kind of like you not living on this board this summer because of the all time you would spending on the golf course and lake.

Comparing Coach K to Cuonzo. Nice.

You clearly don't understand an embarrassing loss to a Vol fan. Attempting to compare a comment about Dooley losing to Kentucky as the same as a basketball loss to Oakland is sad and misinformed.

That's not what he was doing, but go ahead and dig yourself farther into the hole of stupidity

A 2 seed losing to a 15 is embarrassing. But I'm talking about getting woodshedded by Memphis and Vandy on the road and home loses to Austin Peay and MTSU.

When Martin loses in the NCAA tournament to a double digit seed after winning 4 rings in 11 final fours I'll measure losses with a little more balance.

Why don't you do us all a favor and spare us of your ignorance. It's painfully obvious you don't give the first dam as to making yourself look stupid

My guess would be Houston, your point?

We hired Peterson after he was at Tulsa for 1 year and went to the NIT.

So what exactly is you're point? That if you haven't made a tourney you should be fired after your first bad loss, if it's prior to you making a tourney?

Houston would be correct - hired in 1989. What was Houston's regular season record and how did he do in the NIT in his first year? Look familiar?

You can take my advice or leave it. You flaming off in every post gets old. People might pay attention to you if you dropped the attitude and quit calling people ignorant and stupid. You come across as a pompous jerk.

16-14=19-15???? Pure genius

-dont recall Houston taking over a team with a black cloud looming, and a recruiting class in the garbage?

-was Houston picked to finish 11th in the SEC and end up 2nd?

-did Houston land a top 15 player, away from UK, Memphis and Florida in his first year?

-did Houston best multiple ranked teams in his first year?

-did Houston sweep Florida?

-did Houston show continued progression throughout the season?

I'm sorry was that actually supposed to be you referencing the two as being eerily similar?

Wow you think people actually pay attention to what you say, you've lost all credibility bro.

Probably better to come across as a pompous jerk than an absolute moron.

Interesting. You're the one that posts questions to me then comes back every 5 minutes whinning that I haven't answered the question. Which is it? Why do you care what "absolute morons" think anyway?

I should hope not. The league is, and has been, down from top to bottom.

When you factor in Missouri and Texas A&M, it's not down. Actually the league is generally underrated due to its dominance in football. The SEC generally has as many or more in the sweet 16 than most conferences. And your statement concerning the top is 100% wrong. At the top, SEC has been better than most EVERY league.

The interesting thing in your post is the question about sweeping Florida. Do you know who was the Florida coach in Houston's first year at UT? And yes, he did sweep them. But even asking about a trash Florida team gives me the feeling you weren't born yet.

You obviously are paying attention.

I can't help but wonder why you continue to try to make a case for yourself and this thread when it has ZERO merit. If you would admit you were hasty and overreacted with this thread title, your credibility would go up ten-fold. As it stands, your hole is getting deeper and deeper

That's why I said top to bottom. Our top (2) has been strong, but the bottom is woeful. They should have disbanded the west rather than just drop the division titles.

This thread was started as I left the FedEx Forum watching the Vols get laughed at by the Memphis Tigers. I mean litterally laughed at. They quit. It was as an embarrassing loss as the Vols have had in a while.

The team made a great turn-around the second half and salvaged an NIT bid. Although they were winning, they never passed the "eye test" of a good team. This was exemplified in losing 2 of the last three to Ole Miss and MTSU at home.

Some think Martin is a great coach and eat up every word he says. But I don't. Buzz Peterson talked a good game too, but he was completely lost at a program like UT. We have tradition and a rabid fan base wanting to win so bad.

Martin still looks lost on the sideline too much for my comfort. He doesn't have any NCAA Tourney experience. He has shown to be stubborn in adjusting. There are just too many question marks with him for me to believe he'll take the program where it needs to be. He'll be the coach for 12-13. But my long term expectations are obviously, very tempered.

To this point, the evidence of CCM being the savior you want is fairly limited to conjecture, wishes, and unicorns.

Maybe so, but lots of people that forgot more than you will ever know about it say he's doing all the right things to be successful at a big time program

Making statements like this is exactly why you have no credibility here. One has nothing to do with the other, yet you are using it as support of your argument. Every fanbase has fans like you. It's ok.

I couldn't care less what "lots of people" think, guess, and prognosticate. Bottomline, he will be judged on Wins and Loses. He better move the needle way above a 55% win percentage.

bump

I have a life so I'm not on this forum 24x7 like some that appear to live in their parents basement.

Simple expectation. NCAA tournament and no embarrasing losses should be the minimum.

I've been out of the basement for a while and noticed that its been over 12 hours since a post.....

by the way, I left the basement and I'm looking out of a condo toward Copper Mountain. The view is much better here than Mom's basement.
